How to make Indian Postal Service like USPS

Grass is always greener beyond the fence, as someone said in one of the prior posts. I have had exposure to both and I find their attitude is similar. USPS employees can be equally rude citing their low pay (I got this sharp comment from a clerk behind the counter). Similar kind of response I got in Social security office too.
I have never had problem with IPS except that I get parcels which may be outwardly damaged or delayed by a day or two. But then I don't think the private couriers are anyway better in quality if you consider the price they charge. In fact I would prefer to get my stuff through Speed-post rather than through private couriers. When I need absolute assurance that the letter/parcel has to reach, I use registered post.

Mail fraud is a felony in the US. If you can prove somebody opened your mail then they will be in big trouble. If you are convicted for felony then forget ever getting a proper job for the rest of your life.

So start by making mail tampering a cognisable crime ie non-bailable offence.
 
Get your own cycle delivery service, like Premium Rush.

Or if you want it to be even faster, hire Jason Statham as "The Transporter"
 
I am not sure if USPS could be a benchmark. Few experiences -
1. USPS personnel are as friendly or as rude as India Post people are (at their office). I have not seen much diff. I can say that they are lot understaffed than India Post.
2. USPS lost 2 domestic parcels (i.e within US) when my wife sent few things
3. I get fairly regular international mails from Tampa. And the tracking details shows that it takes 5 days for it to reach Miami. This is not once but consistent. Given its ~200miles, 5days is too long even by India Post standards.
4. The people who deliver mails are very friendly in both cases in my experience.

Faced a similar issue with the SBI Ghatkopar East branch. Was told that Mobile-banking and SMS banking and other addons have to be compulsarily activated with opening of a new account. Confirmed with a senior SBI employee that no such facilities need to activated with new a/c. Went to the bank, only to learn that the idiot had been transferred/on leave/dunno, and the substitute got the entire thing smoothed out without needing to activate those services.[DOUBLEPOST=1408691954][/DOUBLEPOST]On a side note - did the USPS not mis-deliver the drone to someone else instead of the military? LOLz
 
Even I haven't face such issue with IP. apart from that they see electronics components as BOMB :cool:
They will open the package, check it twice or thrice then if they didn't get it, will ask superior..
Superior will ask some other person & finally they will take help from Google.. :banghead:

Last week I had to send Kingston hyperX ram blue to kerala.
now they told me whats in the package, I said mobile cover sending to a friend.
Then he told me to open it. I open the package
he removed bubble wrap, thoroughly checked it
Then he said Ok.. do you want to send speed or register? :p:)
 
I dont have any complaint relating to IP as they deliver all letters etc. properly but this time I have not yet received my TE stickers which I was suppose to in June 2014 itself. :sour: may be the IP delivery guy itself is an TEian here ...and if he is reading this, man send me back my stickers I bet I'll share some with you for sure.:p or you may contact Renegade.

Nope that is just pay scale and that was in 5th pay commission. Actual pay would be calculated with Basic Pay + Dearness Allowance + Non-Practising Allowance + Transport Allowance + House Rent Allowance + Special Allowance attached to the post + Special Disturbed Area Allowance

And also Pay Scale have been revised to 5200-20200 in 6th Pay commission. So actual pay is much higher.

The person which come to my house to deliver checks/documents/parcel/packages, is extremely cautious about my security.

He will thoroughly check each and every documents/parcel/pacakge by tearing it from side, middle,back,front, in order to ensure there is no BOMB inside, after than only he will come to deliver me.

If by chance during checking process, he finds the item inside good, he will keep it and skip delivery.

This way i lost 2-3 tees, jeans and printed tees, ordered from UK/USA, (shipped via USPS and UK Postal mail)which was supposed to be delivered by them, but never reached my home. One of my high value check arrived in my house damaged from bottom side, one of my business agreement arrived all soiled up since the protective seal for broken.

Even after filing complain against him, they have only one reply "Items gets damaged in Transit" "If you don't like us don't use us"

For this year baksis i had already kept a damaged 500 rupee note for him :D
