how to make program/app available in WIN 7?

hello,

i have winxp in first partition c drive and window 7 in d drive. i installed recently window 7. should i install all the software/ application again in window 7 since i already have them in winxp. how do i work on app/program while in window 7? pls note i have seperate drive for all software installed E drive.

Well you will have to install all programs again...when you install programs..they not only copy files to your "Program Files" folder, they add entries to Windows registry too...

not necessarily.

i have three OS, winxpsp2, sp3 and vista but i have installed all softwares in winxp2 and use them commonly from winxp3 and vista and no problems. They only ask for registration info, if any.

this method works for 85% softwares.

most of general use softwares are also available as portable version ... u can use them without install

You can use most of the programs by directly going to the existing Program folder and use it. It might ask for administrative right or Registration info.
