Which softwares would be needed to make a professional looking videos using pictures and music with effects like panning an image.
 
Is there any freeware for windows and what is the learning curve for premier pro like ?
 
If you want to make movies from images only then Photostory would be the best option for you. Though there are many proffessional video editors that H2O and Gaurish said.
 
I need to make something which looks professional. Will be giving photostory a shot also.
 
I've started learning Sony Vegas. And hell yeah, its one of the best video making software I've ever seen, with plethora of effects/options available.. :)

Give it a shot. You'll definitely like it. You can find myriad of tutorials on youtube.
