Is it the application popping up or the sms messages from nokia life tool that`s concerning you ?
Dont know if its of any help,still,
If its the application,check if any shortcuts have been assigned to it, and change accordingly.

I don't know if you can remove life tool, but you can definitely unsubscribe from the individual life tool services and hence get rid of the sms messages.
