PC Peripherals HP keyboard blinks and does'nt work

I am using HP keyboard on my PC. When I work on my PC, after some time all the lights of num lock, Caps lock and scroll starts blinking and the keyboard stops working.

I replaced the keyboard and this one is working fine. Pls tell what could be the error with the first keyboard?
