Hi Guys, After uudating to windows7, I connected my HP Laserjet 3030 PCL 5 All in One through usb and all related softwares were installed successfully.
In " Devices and Printers" it is showing printer and fax but strangely, there is no ' scanner'.Even printer's 'scan to' and ' start scan' are not functioning. When I push 'scan to' button, it says 'not setup on pc'. I also searched HP web sitr but without any success.
Please help. Thanks.

Hey,

I have the same printer, you need to update the drivers from Windows Update.

You can do so by going to the start menu -> All programs -> Windows Update.

Check for new updates and then look for the driver under Optional updates. You can install the drivers for PL6 and PL5 both, but I'd recommend PL5.

Check the driver and install away. Post back if you have any problems.

If in case this doesn't work, I'd suggest uninstall all drivers currently installed via Device manager and then doing what I suggested above.

Works flawlessly here.

sibot, let me recount the steps i took:-
connected printer through usb , o/s is windows 7.
All drivers installed through 'plug and play' automatically. It did not work.
Downloaded PL5 from HP site .Did not work.
Further I erred in reporting. Only printer is visible in 'devices and printers', which is working.
In device mgr. No printer is visible.Under human interface devices only two 'usb input device' is showing . No details. So how do I uninstall the drivers?
Is there any ' srubber' type facility is available for removing these drivers?
Thanks

Hey,
I'll try my best to help you out with this. What we're trying to do is to uninstall any installed drivers for the same and reinstalling them. I was facing the same problem when I installed the drivers from

First off, lets see the device manager, where your printer and scanned should be listed as:-

Now I'm going to delete these devices and reinstall the printer using Windows Update. I'm going to do so by right clicking on all 3 devices and clicking uninstall.

AFAIK, you can delete the drivers installed by the Logitech software from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

Now that all my printer related devices have been deleted, you should scan for the hardware changes by clicking on Scan for Hardware Changes under the Action Tab.

Now the printer should be listed under Unknown Devices.

Now you should goto Windows Update and scan for new updates and check under Optional Updates. If it still doesn't work, I can help you remotely via TeamViewer.

Cheers.

sibot, thanks for reply. When I opened ' Device mgr' strangely, I did not find any heading as mentioned, but when put-on my printer found all the entries mentioned by you.Uninstalled all and scanned for hardware changes, all the drivers wre reinstalled.Again uninstalled all devices, put-off printer and scanned for hardware changes Nothing came out of it and I'm not seeingany heading like' Unknown Devices' or my printer anywhere.
Further under 'windows update' 31 languages pack and 3 other namely
Atheros, Dell Inc. and NVIDIA Driver update are available.Since I installed and uninstalled drivers 4-5 times, I think 'Scrubber' utilty should be used but I have no idea where to find it. Pl. help. Thanks

If you'd like, I'd be happy to help you remotely via TeamViewer.

I'm not too sure about the scrubber utility, so I can't say much on that.

What build of 7 are you running? 7600/04?

Hi sibot, I once more reinstalled the driver through ' plug and play' and things have improved.
I can print through computer.
upon clicking on the printer icon in ' devices and printers' I see ' start scan' option and can scan through that.
I did not try sofar but I hope that 'fax' utility can be used through printer panel.
Further, can I pm you reg. mobo problem of my Dell computer? thanks
