Android HTC Desire HD (Another shattered screen thread!)

So my cousin has come down from UK and in flight her phone (out of warranty) fell off and the screen developed as few cracks. Now, after considering suing British Airways for a mid-air bump will cost more, she has decided to replace the screen. Everything is working fine. I've got the quotes of about 4200-4500 for changing the glass in Bangalore. Would anyone here know a reliable Mobile Repair Shop that'll do it for cheaper? Please let me know ASAP!

There's two things here, the digitiser which you touch and the screen underneath. Is the screen underneath still working ?

If it is then only the digitiser needs to be changed. See these etradesupply quotes

After watching some dissasembly videos it appears to be difficult to replace just the digitiser so usually they replace both, thats an easier fix than only the digitiser. Depends on the model.

Factor in shipping plus labour and price is about 3-4k.

Make sure its OEM replacement which will have gorilla glass. Ask to see the digitiser they will use as replacement.

And go to a reputed/trustworthy shop. Modern slim HTC phones are a bi*ch to dismantle and the screen lies at the end of the dismantling process. Chances are high of breaking some other part of the phone or leaving nasty scratchs or gaps on the phone body if done by an amateur.And god to

All this will cost 4 to 4.5k. She said she'd rather sell it on ebay. Well for now she's using my spare HTC One V. Thanks for all the info guys!
