Any idea if/when this phone will reach India?

I emailed HTC and they got back to me:

To clarify your issue, you stated that: You want to know when HTC Desire will be launched in India.

Regarding HTC Desire launch date we would like to intimate you HTC will launch the HTC Desire phone in the last week of April. You will find that handset on the website if it will launch. Please visit to the HTC website HTC.

2nd quarter of India for sure.
Meanwhile I am using Nexus with Modaco HTC desire Rom r17,it gives u best of both worlds 2.1Android OS + HTC sense on tip of it..Give it a try(its also not available in india)
