Specs look good.

Anybody got news how this one measures up against HTC Desire HD?

and ofc how mch against the dual core proccy enabled phones like Atrix.. difference in performance/impacts etc?

Dont see flash support in this, and i am pretty sure the LCD is gonna go blank in Sunlight.

Maybe the pricing will stabilize abt ~25k after the initial hype.. and DHD pricing also should come a bit down as both are indeed are very similar.

It's so similar to the desire HD , just the screen is slightly different and battery is better.

From the specs, it seems to be smaller (in size), lighter Desire HD with a bigger battery.

The screen has come down from 4.3" to 4.0" and the weight has also reduced from the hefty 164g of the HD to 135.5g(Normal desire is 135g). It has to be due to the lack of aluminium body on this thing.

Remaining everything else seems to be same.

Any idea on its performance??

I am using its CDMA counterpart....

Except for the front camera and RAM (cdma incredible has 512 Mb) hardly any difference...

Ah.. the wait is over.. Time to give the legend to my better half and get this phone.. :hap2:

The phone is set to get the gingerbread update in Q2..

Specs are decent but its too high a price for a single core phone right now IMO, it should have been priced at 25k or below to even make sense.

the desire HD does indeed have a Super LCD screen just like the desire Z & Incredible S but unlike the incredible S its not mentioned in the press materials coz they cant officially call the DHD LCD S-LCD due to legal issues...u see just as S-AMOLED is a samsung trademark, S-LCD is a sony trademark. Now the LCD's being used in both the desire Z & incredible S come from sony so they are mentioned as S-LCD in the press releases. The DHD LCD on the other hand is manufactured by sharp and hence they cant mention it as SLCD in PR materials. although both support 16M colours. LCD quality wise the ranking is 1. Samsung, 2. Sharp & 3. Sony. if u look at the technical specs of the desire -z and incredible s SLCDs, they are both 16 bit panels that support 24bit color depth with dithering whereas the DHD is a native 24bit panel just like Samsung Galaxy S, Iphone 4 & Moto droid-x.

But yes its true that initial firmware on the DHD had made the LCD look dull & the colors washed out but with the recent 2.2.1 update HTC made the screen brighter, more contrasty, sharper & more saturated.. Infact now the DHD screen is just like the HTC inspire 4G's & HTC thunderbolt's and a bit better than the original AMOLED screen of the original desire but it still falls short of the brilliant S-AMOLED on the Galaxy S.

The battery life on the incredible is indeed better than the DHD and on par with that of the original desire's but in either case dont expect these super phones to last more than a day on a single charge. The incredible S has slightly less ROM than DHDs.

Currently only Nexus S comes with 2.3 and 2.3 update for DHD, desire z, Desire & incredible S will come in 3rd week of april.

Hope this helps u in clearing ur doubts

After a bit of research and Googling,

Incredible S Vs Moto Atrix..

Display: Atrix

Processing Power : Atrix

Camera: Incredible S

Battery Backup: Incredible S

Not too surprising as the processing power of Atrix is in diff league altogether. Same for display as well.

Incredible S Vs Desire HD.

Battery Backup: Incredible S

Incredible S is draped in plastic. (Drat!)

I've seen desire z, legend, galaxy s and dhd. Imho dhd screen will be scoring last and in no way it will be better than amoled :( also I'm using 2.2.1 customized rom.

In my view screen rating will be like this, 1.galaxy s, 2.legend, 3.desire z, 4.dhd.

I'm 100% sure dhd have lcd type and all the 4.3" screen type models from htc have lcd type only, may be the new models which announced during mwc having slcd!

u will see the screen quality difference with the official 2.2.1 update on stock rom not with any other rom...the reason i am sure the DHD screen is s-lcd from sharp coz my friend cracked the screen & got it replaced...and in the service center we asked them to specifically show us the replaced unit before installing it on the phone...& on its packaging all the details were mentioned...like

manufacturer: sharp

panel: 24 bit

brightness: 500nits

contrast: 1000:1

etc..

moreover HTC here in india have confirmed its actually a s-lcd from sharp..

I dont quite agree with u as i have put three phones side by side viz DHD, Desire, & Desire-Z & the DHD screen was slightly better than the other two albeit after the 2.2.1 update...before it was slightty worse.

IMO the best screens ATM are:

1. Iphone-4

2. Samsung Galaxy-S/ Nexus-S

3. Moto Droid-X

4. Moto Atrix 4G

5. DHD/ Incredible-S/ Inspire 4G

Opinion/tastes differs from person to person, and i've never seen iphone 4 so cant comment on that.

But at any time i can compare side by side all these 4 models, DHD(which im having currently), Legend(which is my previous one, and used by my wife now), Galaxy S and Desire Z both were used by my friends... definitely dhd screen scores below the mentioned models :( Also i hope u know the difference between stock and customized roms :)

Placement of the volume rocker on the left ?? What kinda logic is that now ?

The 8 mp Camera surely is a disappointment. Maybe they will have a plan to climb out of the hole they have dug by unleashing the camera after an update.

Disappointment on these two counts. Serious ones.

Anybody got an idea about pricing of Lg Optimus 2x / Motorola Atrix ..?
