Holy smokes! HTC has just launched their flagship Butterfly smartphone in India. HTC Butterfly was the first 5 inch 1080p display carrying smartphone that went on sale towards the end of last year, 2012. And now, HTC has launched their Butterfly smartphone in India, making this officially the first 2 GB packing, Snapdragon S4 Pro quad with 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) display smartphone selling in India, albeit for a really steep price.
HTC Butterfly launched in India
So India's finally got a 5 inch Full HD packing smartphone. All those people who wish to spend 45k on a smartphone (but not an iPhone) can finally get something that justifies the money spent (with all the features packed within) on HTC's flagship Butterfly smartphone. The HTC Butterfly is a state of the art smartphone packing an amazing Full HD display (1920*1080) which puts it at an astounding 441 ppi pixels density and packing the latest and greatest Super LCD3 display technology which improves upon the SLCD2 tech in the HTC One X (which many reviewers say has the best smartphone display ever), and hence blows anything out of the water to the next planet. In addition, the smartphone packs ultra fast Snapdragon Krait CPUs in quad core configuration clocked at a high 1.5 GHz, and nicely complemented by 2 GB of RAM, the Adreno 320 GPU and Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean to boot.
HTC Butterfly Specifications
As you can see, the specifications are top notch. You can't really complain much about it, except perhaps the limited internal storage which is non-expandable as well, making people who carry a lot of data on their phones uncomfortable since they are spending so much moolah and only getting 11 GB of usable storage. Another place people might complain is the relatively low 2,020 mAh battery. However, Battery Tests by GSMArena prove that the low battery capacity shouldn't fool you about this smartphone's endurance.
HTC Butterfly Price in India
Of course, with great specs come, err high price? The HTC Butterfly has an MRP of Rs. 49,990 which is slightly too high, even for a top notch smartphone.
The phone has a MOP (best buy) price of Rs. 45,990 but expect it to settle around or just below 40k (which would finally make it a great price).
