I am also wanting to buy this, but no way at 47k. It was available on eBay for 43.3k after that WEDTECH coupon, but that's gonna expire today. Hope next time when the coupon comes the official price goes below 40k.

I am thinking about this phone but will wait 3 months or so before taking the plunge. HTC is also poor with after sales service.

@blr_p What do you think about the price of the phone?

Confused

Recent m8 shipments have a very high import price. Around 37k out of Taiwan. And they are only charging 10k on top.

S5 imports at 21k, yet they charge over 50k. S5 is over priced.
Samsung has become a joke to me.They are overconfident fools. They reduced the price on S5 I think 5-6 times in a month?

Is HTC following moto's model here. Is m8 only available from select online retailers and not on the street ?

So now you know why i'm confused. If those prices are right HTC india is taking a serious haircut with the m8. Sound Credible ?

Good idea as this will give HTC enough time to get over manufacturing defects etc. It's a difficult phone to manufacture.

Allows supply build up.

haha, between m8 & the Z2 its a tough choice.

m8 is a foreground shooter, very fast and will get you those impromptu shots, indoors. But its a niche camera. It has the best camera software on android to date. Z2 is more a general shooter but requires skill.

What scares me about the m8 is its predecessor's camera developed banding problems just 6 months or so later due to overheating. Huge thread on xda about it. That gives me pause. Not everybody was affected but it should not have happened.

Since we live in a country with high ambient temperature, custom kernels or the ability to under clock is essential if you want to be doing anything more than talking on the phone outdoors for an extended period of time.

If I had the money I would have gone for z2 but I don't have any money

Rumours are Z2 will start at 45k. it will import around 20k. 3 months later it will drop to 40k.

I've been waiting since last year to get a flagship but the models were each so compelling i could not decide. if i'm going to drop this kind of money on a phone it has to be good for 4 years that way it works out to 10k per year.

Assuming i don't drop the thing in the first week itself :D

If it is 40k it is a steal

WOW, seems like I am not the only one who is confused as hell between Z2 & M8. However I would tend towards M8 more for it's build quality. I have seen Z1's drop test video of Android Authority, and it was really scary. I don't use cases with phones. The 'only' section where Z2 will rule will be anyone's guess, the camera. It has huge bezels however, which looks really awkward.
Btw, an unlocked M8 can be ordered from abroad for ~40k. Of course no warranty, however I don't care about it. Just check eBay.

The only thing about the M8 is the s*** ultrapixel shooter. Every site I have visited agrees that the camera is not 2014 flagship standard.
