Source: HTC sensation to hit Indian market in Q2

The recently launched HTC Sensation smartphone might hit the Indian stores sooner than expected with the handset maker confirming the availability of the device in Q2 this year, probably by May or June.

The HTC Sensation, as reported by The Mobile Indian, was unveiled on the 12th April in London. The Sensation is HTC's first ever phone to feature a 1.2 Ghz processor supplied by Qualcomm and a whole new interface with the latest HTC sense 3.0 UI.

HTC, through its official Twitter account, has made it clear that the latest HTC Sense 3.0 UI will only be supported by newer devices and won't be available for older devices.

So in order to get the best support from the Sense 3.0, you need the next generation of processor that only the newer devices such as the Sensation and the HTC Flyer feature.

HTC Sensation might be launched in UK and the US first following with other countries.

Pricing of the Sensation still remains a mystery but with the kind of hardware the new smartphone features one can easily expect it to be more than Rs 30,000.

This phone looks better off to me than Galaxy S II.

I know it doesn't have SuperAmoledPlus, but it does have this:

HTC Sensation v/s Galaxy S II

1. screen resolution: 960x540 v/s 800x480

2. Sense UI >>>>>> TouchWiz

3. Adreno 220 Based Chipset v/s Weak Mali GPU(Mali cant beat Tegra 2 properly, Adreno 220 is 2-3 times faster than Tegra 2)

4. The phone doesn't have iPhone-ish look, something I always find as weird and out of place in almost all Sammy's phones
 
Read the news that it might arrive in the UK on 27th of Apr.

You missed some points-

Galaxy S II v/s HTC Sensation
SUPER AMOLED Plus > SLCD
1 GB RAM > 768 RAM
16-32 GB Internal storage > 1 GB Internal
Secondary cam is of 2 MP > Secondary Cam is VGA
NFC Support > None
1650 mah Battery > 1520 mAh

Both the devices stand at their own place.
Btw, HTC is planning to lock the bootloader which I guess will be an advantage to SGS 2.
If the bootloader doesn't get cracked, then SGS 2 will be the one to look for.
I'm just drooling over the Super AMOLED PLUS.
 
^ True that. Because most of the fans are waiting for Sensation. It looks like one of perfect HTC devices. I just hope they do think about the development before locking/un-locking the bootloader.

oh yah yah but seriously, 2MP wont ask for too much bandwidth(fast connection) to be of any use(in India)?

I've seen the Super Amoled + screenies comparision, still doesnt match IPS in iPhone 4
 
^ The discussion was of Sensation Vs SGS2, how did Iphone became involved. And you know what the best display ever so far was of the Droid by Motorola.

And 2MP is fine.. 1st tell me, don't you think that the camera will work without the 2G/3G. Bandwidth comes later.

According to this High Level Manager (who refused to be named) :

“The HTC marketplace in India has grown tremendously after a launch of a new operation of Android Handsets including a Desire HD, Desire S and Incredible S. We are saying a continual uptrend in marketplace sales and gain from a smartphone segment. The association sees a direct and has motionless to make a handset accessible as early as Jun 22nd.”

In a after QA event we also were means to find out that there are 2 new Windows 7 Phones entrance after this year along with a 3D HTC Android Device.

The pricing of a HTC Sensation will be upwards of Rs. 32k During Launch and afterwards after tumble next a Rs. 28K segment.

what, so you're gonna shoot 2mp stills when there's a 8mp on the back, dont give me that...

Yes yes I know it's Sensation v/s Galaxy S II, but I was just pointing out, no matter how many Plus Plus Sammy add to Amoled(or how many Super), it's still yet to match IPS on iPhone 4
 
^ I'm sure they'll work something out and no offense but, I hate when people compare SGS or SGS2 with an iPhone. Apple is using major hardware, which is manufactured by Samsung only. And yes I do use the front cam on my SGS. It completely depends on the person, of what he likes and dislikes. For e.g. I might call SRK gay and hate him, but many of the people here might like him as well and that doesn't make all of them gay.

but only thing that scares me is the samsung and the pricing it is planning. If they come out with the same pricing as HTC, I'm buying the SGS 2 asap.

Anyways, I do like the Sensation as its the best HTC phone till now, in my knowledge.

And like I said earlier, both of them are at their own places. It completely depends on the buyer, what he wants from his phone.

and yet samsung's own phones are trumped by it's own components in apple iPhone?

does apple do some magic with samsung hardware?

btw, the IPS screen is from LG, not samsung

I said Super Amoled and plus are from them.

dude, you should check the apple and its hardware and also check who provide to whom.
 
IPS vs Super Amoled Plus have their own advantages. IPS has the power advantage when displaying whites and also has greater contrast. But Super Amoled Plus will have extraordinary vivid colors that iphone cannot match. So its a matter of preference. I prefer amoled screens to lcd.
