Hi guys,

I need ur help in deciding between HTC Touch Pro & Diamond 2.
i'm getting a AT&T (unlocked) HTC Touch Pro for 19k.buying a new Diamond 2 wud set me back by 28k.
so which 1 amongst these wud be a better buy.the cam of these fones dont matter much to me as i already own a N86:hap2:

need to decide fast as i wanna buy either 1 of these by Tuesday.

^^^ to say the truth i havent thought much bout the purpose.........
just that i caught a whimp to buy a winmo
thats bout it.

that guy is me. Touch Pro is great along with its features. Mine is brandnew, unlike INdian 2g version it is US 3g version. Great buy. PM me your offer & we will think about it. But believe me you wont get any better price & handset for such a condition & from such a reputable person. Cheers.

PS: I want to sell it securely the way things have been sold in this community but it will take me 35posts. Which will take a bit of time. I am a developer+ROM cook+editor, so this forum never attracted me at all. I am genuine & will give you all my retail applications(genuine licenses) If you are confortable taking it by hand then you can, but believe me I am a genuine person & what you are getting is second only to new & the best.. You can call me on my phone no.09888185007. My account is with HDFC.

Its basically a question of physical keypad, thicker and heavier phone vs slightly larger and higher res display, slimmer and lighter phone. The under lying hardware and OS for the most part is the same and the only difference is in the above mentioned attributes and an updated TouchFlo 3D Interface in the Touch Diamond 2. Personally If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't go for either of these phones.

I have had occasion to use a couple of HTC WinMo devices recently when porting one of our prototype app's to Windows Mobile 6 and in my personal opinion, the 2.8" screen on the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro is puny and Touch Diamond 2 does not sound like much of an upgrade either apart from the ince 3.2" screen. But if you want a Win Mobile phone under 20k, then that Touch Pro does look attractive though I guess you would loose the benefit of warranty which I heard is very much required for HTC mobiles though I also heard that their warranty is kind of useless in India due to their poor after sales service.

Do note that the Touch Pro weighs an insane 165gm which is 20gm heavier than even the SE Xperia X1.

I hope you do realize that its against the forum rules to promote/advertise sale of your wares outside the market section. The 35 post rule exists for a reason. If you are really a techie and a WinMo developer, can't you wait till you contributed 35 meaningful posts to the forum. This is the second place where I see you openly promoting your Touch Pro and most of your previous posts were to promote Touch Pro in order to sell your own phone.

You do realize that us 3G version is useless in India for 3G???

Indian 3G frequencies do not match with US 3G freq, thats why there are always two models of phones that release in asian and american market. So basically you have a 3G phones which cant be used with Indian 3G carrier :P

@ OP

Out of your options, go for diamond 2.

You really need to see this phone in person. The screen, the phone, the responsiveness of the new touchscreen is a big up from previous generation of HTC phones. I have owned this phone for a little over month now, and I am very pleased with it. THe only other phone that will make me sale this one at the moment is HTC Hero ;)

@ Lord

HTC service is largely location dependent. The mumbai servicing issues have been resolved. And to my surprise, they have even honoured International warranty on thier high end phones.

One of my friends who bought the Touch HD from clove dropped it and its display went dead ( no physical damage visible ). He gave it to HTC service center and they replaced the screen free of cost in 6 days time.

I would like to contradict my fellow about the US version's usability in Indian case.

Who has told you that US 3g version doesn't work with 3g in India?

Touch Pro in US is known is AT&T Fuze which has following bands

GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS850, UMTS1900, UMTS2100

CSD, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA

You can see it supports almost all the bands. In India what we have is Band 850. Thus it is applicable in INdia as well. I have been running 3g with BSNL as well.

Proof:

AT&T Fuze (HTC Raphael 101) Specs | Technical Specifications | PDAdb.net - Comprehensive Database of PDA, PDA Phone, Smartphone, PNA & Mobile Device Specifications

Kindly verify your facts before commenting on such technical issues. Moreover front camera doesn't really mean that a phone should have 3g.

This is a copied text of a reply I had to your misinformation. Plz avoid having that in future.

Thanks & Regards
