PC Peripherals HTPC/Gaming rig for 70k

The 5870 or the 5850 would be the choice of the graphics card for this rig. The GTX260 is DX10, older architecture, more power consumption, more heat etc etc. With DX11, directCompute, OpenCL, GDDR5 memory, 40nm fab process, and the best of all Eyefinity!, 5000 series is the way to go. The x58 MoBos cost a bomb. Instead go for a complete AMD rig on a 790FX MoBo, and with the saved money and get the 5870. Also, this will give you the option for going for the Black edition with unlocked multipliers on the Phenom II procs if ever you decide to overclock/underclock.

My recommendation:
(if your going gaming with crossfirex etc)

Cabinet : CM690 - 4.5k
Hard Disk : 500gb seagate - 2.4k
Optical Drive - Sony DVD writer - 1k
Processor - Intel Core i7 920 @ 14.8k
Motherboard - msi x58 pro-e @ 11k
Power Supply - Corsair Vx550 - 5.5k
Ram - Corsair 2*2gb DDR3 1333mhz - 6.2k
Keyboard - 0.9k
Mouse - 1.5k logitech mx512
LCD - Dell 24'' FULL HD s2409w @ 13k (or your choice of company)
Graphics Card - XFX/Sapphire HD5850 - 17k

Thats 75.4k + 3.8k for your sound card

If this is above your budget, then get a 5770 now and crossfire it with another one later :)
