I have been trying to figure out if I want to build an HTPC or buy a media streamer.... I have an 42" HD TV ... so HD support is a must. I haven't decided how I am going to do this, but it is a pet project/hobby and I am in no hurry, so I am not soliciting/asking for advice yet please. I wanted to share some of the links and information I have found so far with others that are also interested too.....

A nice quick solution, but does not offer the choices of a true HTPC :D

some real drool maal....here

Very nice... :) so much stuff out there now... I really would like to go wireless too... but some of the wireless devices don't have great reviews... maybe wireless N will be the solution.

its not as simple as it looks . its a full fledged linux box, and can be used as a media server ( and a lot of other servers as well :D )

I think the enjoyment for me (if I can justify the expense to the wife) will be building the perfect home entertainment system that is all connected via wireless interface. This means HD video, music, Internet, gaming, the whole works and all connected to my surround sound system and my 42" LCD and have the media files accessible from any computer too.....

The final solution may involve multiple solutions of prefab hardware and a home-built HTPC system... but it is fun trying to work out how to make it all work together and fit my needs too ;)
