Huawei unveiled their Ascend Mate and Ascend D2, but it seems that this company isn't done yet. Huawei is preparing to add a new model to their slim P series of Android smartphones. Enter the Huawei Ascend P2. The Ascend P2 will build on the original Ascend P's slim and light design (and eliminate the tiny battery) and bring it up to 2013 standards. Mind you, this isn't a flagship smartphone but rather right under flagship level with an affordable price tag (at least that will be the case when it ends up at China).
Huawei Ascend P2
The Huawei Ascend P2 will be receiving it's official unveil treatment later next month at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2013. And it seems that like all upcoming smartphones these days, the Ascend P2 has received it's leaked image and specifications. So here it is!
Leaked Image
The phone looks decent, a nice design with 3 capacitive buttons at the bottom. A lot of bezel is wasted at the top, something a 5" smartphone cannot afford to have. Nevertheless, a nice design by Huawei that retains a lot from the original Ascend P.
Leaked Specifications
The phone will use a faster K3V2 quad core Huawei chipset, clocked at 1.8 GHz. 2 GB of RAM is on board, which is pretty good. The 5" display takes a step backward at 720p (1280 x 720 pixels). 13 MP camera adds to multimedia, as well as Full HD video recording. The battery is amazing at 3,000 mAh. This alone will probably win over many hearts. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean adorns the smartphone OS.
Now, just release this phone worldwide for a price we cannot refuse.
