Hello guys, i always wanted to have my own storage server and light virtualisation home server (no transcoding) so i was researching a lot and came to know that ryzen apu have great efficiency and actually a good option for NAS pc.

So i finally ordered the full pc setup from these site vishalperipherals, computechstore, shwetacomputers and elitehubs.

1. Cooler master mwe bronze 450 v2 (recieved already)
2. MSI b450m-a pro max ii motherboard, (2.5g lan which is a nice fit for NAS)
3. Gigabyte 256gb nvme SSD
4. 2x8gb Adata XPG gammix d35 (white)
5. I already have a ryzen 3 3200g from a friend, i upgrad and help build/setup his pc last year and now i basically got it for free with the stock cooler.
6. A cheap cabinet to hold the parts for now, NAS cabinet are too expensive. So i thought going with ant eSports si11, i will buy additional HDD internal casing and mount it somehow later.

(11.7k for the full pc setup brand new)

I am planning to buy these,
7. 2 piece of Seagate ironwolf pro refurbished from newegg. 5yr warranty 10tb@$130 (anmol's usa shipping)

What do you think, is the setup good?

Your build looks good for a budget NAS and minimal virtualization! The Ryzen 3200G is low-power, and the B450M with 2.5G LAN is a good buy. Just take care to provide good airflow to that cabinet, particularly with lots of HDDs later on. Refurbished IronWolf Pro drives from Newegg are a bargain—just ensure the warranty applies. Good building to you.

Looks good for me
Are you planning to run Proxmox? TrueNAS Scale?
i will use debian and install required packages to make it a nas. I dont want to use truenas because im not using ECC ram so data corruption will be there? Also unraid is paid one so i will not use that too

Thanks brother, yes seagate provide international warranty i checked. virtualisation would be very small, a nginx web server with cloudflare tunnel. I want to self web host for wordpress test environment, in a separate vm box. Host bare metal machine will be used for nas. 50GB ssd, 4gb ram and 2 cores VM for web hosting.. I will keep this in a ground floor room which generally stays cooler also i have some spare 120mm fans

Is your motherboard ATX or matx? The links you have shared seem to be ITX/MATX. With the PSU mounted in front of the CPU, there is barely room for a cooler unless you opt for a low profile CPU cooler. You have to check the clearance between cooler height and PSU.

I have been using CM Elite 370 ; and been recommending that as an entry level NAS cabinet for many. You can look into that.

Also consider running Xpenelogy (Synology DSM modded to run on non-Synology H/W) using this. I am running this for the NAS at my native place and its excellent. DSM has one of the most feature rich and easy to use interfaces for a NAS.
I will setup this one as soon as i build the pc bro, thank you for suggesting!

As per the description on amazon, max height supported for the cooler is 80mm. If your cooler is wraith stealth (about 57 or 60mm IIRC) it should fit.
Thanks bro! Yes it is wraith stealth, i am not planning to upgrade the cooler unless it stopped working...

Thank you bro, yes this looks good. Is it a full tower or mid tower? I have been looking for many cases too, which i got from antec and other brands. But those are too big. The case i chose is the basic antesports one because i saw hdd bays are available to buy from amazon, so i was thinking to put the bays later on by screwing it behind the front panel..

The antesports si 11 is small case top mount PSU, but i will keep it horizontal in a bookshelf. Heat goes upward so it will be fine too?
