Subtle difference here, but the factory outlets are actually selling defective stuff. It actually takes more work to do that (sell) and hunt for used deals (buy) than to buy new (incld hunting for price), if you account for time.

More efficient sites to sell such would defnitely cut that down. ebay was supposed to be one such site but it got nowhere.

What do you do with you rold stuff then ? --use it till its dead then dump.
