I am not able to get 1440*900 resolution in my 19 in LG monitor
I also installed the driver that i think it is latest from the below URL mentioned but it is not helping.
Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your help in advance.
My PC configuration:
Motherboard: ASUS K8V-MX (Socket 754)
CPU AMD Athlon 64 with 800mHZ
Graphics: Internal. VIA/S3G Unicrome(K8M800) Pro IGP

This is the problem - VIA/S3G Unicrome(K8M800) Pro IGP

The onboard VGA cant support this resolution. one of my friend had the exact same issue. i made a thread as well asking for help

Nothing can be done, get a el-cheapo AGP card or upgrade

^^^ with ati 4850 you don't need to use other s/w, i'hv samsung 943nwx 22" monitor which also doesn't show the native resolution, but it might be tricky sometimes, for me first i have to set the dispaly to 16bit then force the resolution 1050x1680, then again swith to 32bit, btw i know that this is the problem with my monitor 'cause it doesn't show the default native resolution with any other comp/laptop. I'm a bit lazy to call these CC guys, anyway have 3 year warranty so no probs as such..

@ ajin your config looks too old :) so their might be the problem with gfx card..check ur monitor with other comp/lappy if possible..

@foruamit2004 : i checked with Lappy, monitor is perfectly fine, it can play that resolution. :hap2: but chipset is too old to support that

PowerStrip 3.75 not working.
It takes resolution given by the driver and plays with refresh rate and other stuff ....

make sure if the monitor drivers are installed.

some displays do not work well wid the default drivers from windows...n hence the limited resolution n frequency.

how will dvi-d cable help resolution. i do not see any logic.
as you probably know dvi -d will directly carry the digital signal to LCD without analog conversion. i do not know how tat will affect resolution.:hap5:

LG must have given u monitor drivers cd similar to my dell SE198WFP which will help to set it ... check manuals for download link otherwise

try it.. the options for changing the resolution will increase in digital display...check in google...
u'll get more advanced options in digital display:)

^ Do you guys really think such an old mobo will have a DVI port ??

Any graphics card onboard ( including intel's excluding nvidia for good drivers ) which are 5-6 years old do not support any wide screen resolution because WIDE SCREEN was not really used that time. Get a cheap graphic card or just upgrade the mobo/ram.

Guys i am facing the same problem, but weirder!!, i have a Viewsonice VG1921WM-2, running on a Intel 945G mobo with Intel900 media accelerator(on board GFx) amazingly it was running fine till yesterday at 1440 X 900, then suddenly today when i switched on the PC, it showed 800X600 resolution, amazed it tried to reset it but the 1440X900 option had disappeared, i set it to the nearest available resolution 1400X1050, but damn...i use CAD on the rig and lines and shapes(geometry) that i drew displayed all wrong, i downloaded the latest graphics drivers for Xp 14324 but no use. even did a driver rollback and installed the original drivers from the CD, but no use.....have pent the entire day trying to solve the issue but it isn't helping....

amazing such an issue occurs after using the same settings for almost 8 months now.....

plz anyone have any other ideas...other than the ones already suggested????

guess will have to start a new thread for this, i am not hijacking this thread...thought mine and the guys problem seems to be the same.....

i have installed ubuntu latest version and guess what it is giving me 1440 X 900 resolution.
no need of graphix card..
the display drivers are superb.
Vista do not give me the resolution. so obsolete........lol

+1 for raptor's reply ! Look for a good deal at the market section, Now a days lots of people are upgrading their old card's, I fact i sold my XFX 8600 GT at 2k,
