Hai ,

after 6.5 years with suzuki fiero , I sold the piece .:( .the problem is ,fiero get knocking with me in hills(btw ,I am 105Kgs now :(:( ) .then today ,I got this 7/2006 Bajaj Pulsar DTS-i 180cc for Rs 36,500/- at exactly 6:30PM .I dont know if it is loss or profit. for me ,mileage shown by other bikes simply is not valid ,since payload is already reached :ohyeah::ohyeah: .I hope this bike can atleast cruise me fine :anyone:

Do ,flow your thoughts reg pulsar here.

what mileage can be expected? the cost for spares are high?true?

First of all Congratulations....Parting ways with old bikes is always a touf job  all memories go along with it.......neways coming to the topic...Good buy...although u could have got the 2006 a little more cheaper ..say the 31-32k mark. Somethings u need to check on.....

1) Engine Condition
2) Chain / Sprockret Condition
3) Accel / Clutch Cable <-- Get them changed if they aint new.
4) Rear break liners and front disk pads.
5) "T" play.
6) Engine oil.

Basic things above regarding the bike and will ensure good running.

On the formalities.

1) Insurance.
2) Transfer of bike ? ( did u take a written confirmation from the seller that the bike is your property from this date and this time and you are not responsible for any incidents before )
3) Local RTO and RC Book.

Maintenance of Bajaj bikes is ok. The parts are cheaper than HH ofcourse. Enjoy the ride!

^everything perfect. even came with workshop logs ,full accessories .the ex-owner maintained the dear very carefully and painstakingly. I should've finalized for a new bajaj discover 135 dts-i ,if this bike does not come in the middle.

price wise , I dont think you can get a pulsar here(kerala) for that cheap. :|

also ,the confidence we can have with this bike at 80+ kmph is good ,though I rarely does the same :P

wait for a snap of the bike.

^aww! I meant fiero cant get me carried in hilly roads.frequent care changes.

In malayalam they says - "bike avingu poyi!" :D or "bike's engine decayed " ;)

congrats man ..... 180 is the best pulsar ever :)

lose the saari guard and that thing on the tank ......

^ for 15 days a month(approx) ,I have to travel daily 25kms with this bike.considering the fuel economy ,I have to "control" myself to not to throttle the beast :D .(45-50 is my average speed on highway!!!! ). ...and by highway dont expect Dehli-Jaipur or madras-banglore one, this is a state highway only! :P

110kmph is good for a try? :D .well ,the bike is in ease with wheelie too(stoppies ,I dont know how to `coz I am 105Kgs dude!).but I dont want to use the bike roughly.still enjoying pulsar :D

well ,took pulsar for service with my friendly garage.he tried it a round and came back with this result :S :

1) clutch block(not sure !?) to be replaced : Rs600

2) centre bolt ??(middle between handle used for rotating)

3) general work - like tightening chain+oiling etc .

guess it will come around Rs1500 :( :(

anyways ,consoling myself that I only going to spend 1.5K for a used but as good as new bike :P

OK.now after the service , I am advice to not to use full clutch for gear shifting. also ,the damn service guy put 20W40 on my 180. :| .I flushed it off and filled with Veedol 20W50.Now it is fine.

Also ,thinking of getting a RX135 too(within a year). I simply cant forget the 2-stroke era.

cool bike dude.
If u r riding in night then for better light u can change the bulb with 60/55W bulb and change the stock coil with Avenger 180's coil. If u feel u can install new UG3 headlight asembly too. Even with stock 35/35W bulb the light beam will improve by 20-30% and better focused.
Also u can install P200's rearset footpegs and brake-gear levers system.
All these are direct fits. I've done same on my bike.
