CPU/Mobo I wanna buy a new pc...

One thing: the market name of Conroe: "Core 2 Duo".

The dealers who you talk to may not know what a Conroe is... :)
 
Lol.. Theres no 975X Based mobo for the C2D around 8k.

The P5LD2 Rev2 which supports conroe is for 7.5k.
And not worth it.
Id say go for this...

2 Gb is overkill for him as i believe aditya.. hes better of investing tht in a 2.1 setup or even bigger HDD.
and DUDE sumeet search TE first.
dont compare stupid P4's netburst architecture wioth conroe.
in microprocessor industry the oscilaltion speed isnt the last word that counts.how much work done per cycle counts.first architecture then speed.
whos gonna utilize it? how "BUS" ? how much faster will be the nodes how much fast it can feed data to the cache how faster it can REAd and operate from IVt also makes shit differences.
so before asking how can a p4 1.66 ghz conroe beat a p4 3.8 ghz .. do some research........ Google
i'm saying this sumeet cuz until ur satisfied with ur pc u'll have sleepless nights.
whatever we recommend u'll feel eh its 1.66 ghz and i can get a 3.8 ghz so many ppls r gettin those.
know first then buy.
like u asked me whats special in antec neo he tht makes it soo overpriced than normal smps .. u cant understand this until u do some research work urself.
 
:) :) A suggestion sumeet...Since you are a techenclave member you should have som interest in the latest tech related stuff.Read up a few articles on the core2..See the performance improvements...you will understand everything...:) :)

conroe > opteron dual core >= x2 > opteron single core >= venice single core amd > p4.

One problem mate.... you weren't born with all that techy goop in your top story... That's what forums are for pal... everyone doesn't know as much as the other. Some don't even need to know or aren't so inclined..

Everyone also doesn't show off the gyan they get from all those lil downloaded whitepapers too...:rofl:
 
Just get what I told you..

If you think 2GB RAM is too much.. Save 4500 Bux, and get 512mb*2 Sticks..
 
Yeah...save the money on memory (512x2 is enough) and invest in a decent cabinet, don't get one of those shitty 1.5k cabinet. Get a lanboy or even better a Zebby Jamaica(<4k).

but i want a good 2.1 speakers also..

k done.. now plz sumone giv me the final config.. its tuff for me to make a config of my own from all the suggestions in here lolz..

I think everyone wants the best rig out there when they go shopping- but isn't it necessary to buy as per requirements and save some and divert it to other sections!!:S
 
i will b going in to depth later on wards ...

so i want the best config which i can get at my budget..

i mentioned all the things which i m gonna do currently... but m gonna play games also... high fi games.. later on..
