Hello all,

I want a reliable Dash Cam for my New Baleno Car under 10k
I want the dash cam to have both front & rear cams.
Which is enough? Like 1080p or 2k?
Do I need to increase my budget? Then how much?
Where can I buy the dash cams? Any link?
Thanks.

What dashcams has your research returned or do you have any particular features/brand in mind ?

Do keep in mind, most dash cams won't record when the car engine is switched off unless you connect the cam directly to the battery, in which case, it will end up shortening of your car's battery life as the camera uses decent amount of power.

Have used 70mai Dash Cam Pro Plus for front and 70 mai RC06 for rear cam in multiple different cars with good success.
Rear module has failed ones so far and not a single front module failure in 3 years. Video quality is good.

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

You can get it on Amazon or nextdigitron.

Both units combined should cost around 12k I think, plus 1k for installation from 3rd party.

How is this Blaupunkt DASHCAM DC 4050 WIFI when compared to 70mai Dash Cam Pro Plus? So dash cams require sd cards for recording right? Do I need to get the dash cam installed at Maruti Authorised Dealer or from any 3rd party because it might void the warranty of new car right?

1. Yes you do need a SD card, we are using Samsung and Sony cards

2. To keep warranty, use one of the usb ports in your car to provide power to the cam

3. I don’t think an authorised service centre will install this directly, so yes, you will have to get it installed by a 3rd party, it is just some wires going back and forth along the top or bottom parts of your cars insides, and connecting it to the usb port for power.

Okay. Thanks for replying.
So I need to use the USB ports in my car to power the Dash Cam not direct routing of wires into the dashboard right?
Max sd card size supported by 70mai is 128GB while for Blaupunkt is 256GB but 128GB is enough na? So when ever I start my car the recorded video will get written over right?
What sd cards of 128GB are you using and give links also. Thanks.
I use 70mai A500S dual channel dashcam. Costs around 10-11k. Below 9k is there's a deal on it.
So 70msi A500S is better than Blaupunkt right?
But the specs show otherwise.
So all dash cams are powered by plugging them into the USB ports of the car right?
Even this Blaupunkt?

70mai is a reliable brand in dashcams and since I use, I can only say about that. You can connect the dashcam to the infotainment system of your car or use the USBC Port. The former method voids warranty usually but since it's a Maruti that's not an issue. I did the same with my dzire. USB C ports is a good option but that wont give you the parking surveillance. (Someone strikes your car, Camera wakes up, records for 10-15s and goes back to sleep).
In my car, messing with infotainment voids warranty so I use USB ports.

Same one I have. Dual channel. Using since last 3 years. It is battery based, not capacitor but no issues I have faced. Just changed battery after 3 years as it stopped keeping time and would always ask to set time whenever I started the car. The replacement battery cost me 1000 rupees from nextdigitron and it is genuine battery. Battery replacement was DIY.

@bssunilreddy

128GB too is overkill. Get 64GB only. The old videos get over written with new ones so don't worry. Anyways, a 10 day old video won't be of any help anyways.

Battery is lithium right?
