i am thinking of starting a website.but i have a few questions-

1.what is the cheapest way to create a website?

2.what should be present in a website that will help me earn some money?

3.how many people are required to maintain a website?

4.what can be some good content for a website that will help generate a lot of traffic?

5.where can i find detailed descriptions for google adSense, SEO etc?

i am a complete noob & i have no knowledge in these stuff..a friend of mine will help me with html & stuff(i have no knowledge in programming either).i want to know all about creating & maintaining a website for monetary benefits. please guide me. thank you.
 
1. Learn from the internet. Download video tutorials and make it yourslef.

2. That, you'll have to figure out on your own. There's no sure shot way. Just try to think something innovative and have your fingers crossed

3. Depends on the magnitude of the website. Number could be as small as 2 people

4. Same as 2

5. Download some videos on SEO or Google SEO techniques.

I'd suggest you go through some tutorials and learn a few technologies first before actually jumping onto something.
 
I'd suggest a self hosted wordpress blog. As for the content, you'll have to think of something you're interested in.

1. I didn't got your question, cheapest way to create a website or to host it? If you wanna create a website very easily using tools like dreamweaver. If you want cheapest way to host it, then LMGTFY

2. The most important thing you'll need is content, that the visitor will find useful and visitor will feel like visiting your website again and again for good content.

3. That depends upon how big the website it. If it is blog kind of thing, then 1-3 people are enough to 'maintain' it (If you have enough time and experience, you can do work by yourself).. If it is forum then as the discussion gets bigger, you'll feel like keeping moderators, and other staff.

4. What do you think, what will make people crazy about? Do you have enough knowledge about that particular thing? Will visitor wish to visit your website again? That really depends on what do internet users want. You can't predict it at all..

1. For starters, I'd recommend starting a blog (wordpress, blogspot are some easy ones). They are very easy maintenance and you wouldn't need to hassle with HTML code right away.

2. A typical website would contain web content that attracts people, could be anything from porn videos to photographs to genuine articles. If you just need to make a quick buck, there are softwares out there that will update your website by themselves with random articles, although you'd have to make a couple of such websites to make a sizeable profit out of them.

3. Depends on your website, could be as little as a single person or more.

4. No web content can guarantee traffic, although some of the most hit websites are porn and lose weight fast websites.

5. Google.

I'd recommend downloading a couple of tutorials, and learning HTML/CSS. Also, sit down and think hard on what it is that you'd like to provide the endless web with, then start your website.
 
Creating a website with the aim of making money will get you nowhere. You'll never get a good idea and the visitors will immediately see through it as well. Instead, focus on creating good content and the traffic will flow in eventually, and then you can cash in.

This is an absolutely incorrect way of looking at it. Any content can be good if you're good at it. Instead of asking what is good content, you should ask yourself what are you good at and start generating stuff on it. The internet is vast, and you'll always have someone looking for something you've made.
 
I suggest you should start with a blog of your fav topic , blogger.com is gud to start and free and may give u some monetary benefits !! You'll learn things with time.... :)
 
I think the best way to go about it is to take it slow, don't think that you'll make money soon. Since you mentioned you are not much aware of these, if I were you, I would go about learning the things I have to know.

Firstly, analyze yourself and ask what your role should be in the process. Do you like programming, willing to learn about it? Do you like Graphic design and willing to learn about the same? Or do you like to keep your hands off these technical elements and only concentrate on the marketing and other aspects, in short, would like to be an internet marketer with no technical skills?

Now once you figure out what interests you, go in that direction. If you like programming and things, learn PHP, SQL. If you like Graphic design, learn Photoshop. Either ways, learning HTML and CSS should be a must and a basic requirement. If you want to let someone else handle these technical elements, research on SEO, internet marketing tools and methods etc.

Once you have a good idea of how things work, come up with a blog or something about the topic that excites you. If you have some other monetizing idea, like an innovative store or something, try to implement it. You can buy a domain name, costs $10/year and start with free hosting, there are many out there. In most cases, you can start with a CMS (content management system) like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal etc and customize it as per your needs as you go along.

These are virtually the most important questions while designing a website, and unfortunately answers for these have to be found out by you on your own.

Look at it this way, if someone knew what would generate a lot of traffic and help earn money on a website, why wouldn't they make a website on their own rather than telling you.;)

You decide on a content and make sure its good and you will get traffic.The only way you can maximise money off the website is keeping in mind a business strategy and demarcating ad spaces etc earlier on in a non obstructive way so that you don't make a mess of the website while later commercialising it.

I do not mean to offend you, but from your question your soul purpose of making a website seems to be the monetary gain. A good website is probably one of the best sources of passive income but it takes a lot of initial time and effort to start generating revenue, so do look at all the options you got.

As for your other questions, a website can be run by a single individual and you could use wordpress to start a website for free within minutes if you want to ! It all depends on the scale and functionalities of the website.
