Hi guys,

Have budget of 4.5lks for small car..Have shortlisted the i10,beat,ritz..This car is mainly going to be driven by lady, daily commute to office, mainly for city usage..

My main concerns are-
low manitenance
fuel efficient
Good A.S.S

Please help...Thanks..:)

My Vote: Ritz. Good car and performance wise: satisfaction.

If considering i10, and can extend the budget.. take a look at the new i10 sports aka Kappa 2. Else the Original Kappa.

thanks mate...test drove the ritz but the problem is car feels bit huge,so the lady is bit reluctant to buy..else no problems..also we could get only the base model i.e lxi since on-road comes to around 4.54 after discounts...She is yet to test drive the i10,though she feels that car has good view of road&she would feel confident..we could consider the i10era for this budget..

@ fenix..Have not considered it yet due to high spare parts costs of ford cars..also dont know about fuel efficiency..

Enquired about i10 no discounts except for mudflaps, floor mats, nothing else..Ritz we are getting the usual mudflaps, floor mats, one ganesh idol, some polish coating..

Beat we are yet to enquire, the car looks stylish, modern on road, but havent seen many on road, also the chevy brand image makes me worry...

For the i10, ask for offers on the older i10. I came across some ads last week about a free LCD with the older i10.

is that supposed to be an offer on old model or a compensation for supplying old engine? think about it!

@OP

budget, requirements etc please.

sorry didnt notice :ashamed: :P

all of them are good candidates.

i would rule out beat as it is too much in looks for my preference but looks are subjective.

if not already, then do TestDrive all those cars.

as it is for your lady, ask her to TD.

no matter however bright the specs may look, it is a whole different story when you actually TD the car.

take along a few friends so that you will know how it feels in TD when the car is loaded...

no probs mate...:) till now test drove only the ritz,as i have mentioned she feels the car is huge, also feels it doesnt provide the good road side view while driving...it was only myself, sis, sales manager who were there in the car..:P

The lady in query is my sis..:)

Also need to know is it due to seating arrangement of ritz which doesnt provide good view of road or due to her height?her height is 5.3" JFYI..

Ritz and Beat both don't provide a very good visibility, if she finds visibility in Ritz poor, Beat is even worse.

i10 is probably one of the easiest to drive cars out there, with excellent visibility and the new i10 is loaded to the brim and suits all your sis's requirements. Figo is another excellent car but petrol FE is quite terrible. New i10 is the way to go IMHO.

See, abt the Ritz,

++

Good engine response

Sufficient power for long trips (you are secure on that front.)

Good interiors

Good leg room for backseat ppl.

Will carry Maruti Brand Tag means better After Sales Service

- -

Boot a lil smaller (subjective thingie)

Might Experience Bumpy roads bit too mch if riding in the back and trying to zoom on those potholes.

And abt the Figo..

++

Good feel of a Big car while driving

Good fuel efficiency

As far as the Ford's expensive parts are concerned, i think that has been addressed. Plant in Chennai is making things so i think it has come down considerably. I still think Ford has to increase its network a bit though.

You dont really get the performance while revving up the engine of a Figo

Legroom for the backseat passenger is going to leave you asking for better designing

All said and done, if you really want Practical solution in that segment (being driven around in a small car which can be good for long trips as well).. It should be Ritz or i10 Kappa. No two ways about it. :)

I am sure sis is gonna adjust to the car. Tempt her with ice creams/chocolates/shopping if u have to.

Another Choice can be Swift for you. Ritz Vs Swift Should be a good duel for you.

Even she felt the same, when she sat in i10..went through few froums where they had mentioned that petrol figo isnt efficient unlike its diesel sibling..Also spare parts are highly priced..Any opnions on hyundai A.S.S?Any other cars to look for under this budget?

Discounts doesnt matter, its just the car should be worth the money..

thanks bro, well its visibility thing&features which makes us think to go for i10..i10 era as compared to ritz offers much more like front power windows, vanity mirror, tachometer etc...Its making us more confused..Also will the K-series will be more efficient than IRDe?

K series is def more efficient from what i have heard.

But again stating .. Make the first pref of choosing one between Swift Or Ritz.

i10 only comes afterwards.

If sis is sold on the looks of i10.. try to get the technicalities part to her. i10 should only be no 3 on ur pref list. My humble opinion. :)

now been toggling b/w TE&autocar india..:P swift overshoots the budget..To be frank were first considering the spark, then we though why not go for bigger car since we wont be upgrading the car for next few 4~5yrs...:)

also she says she has seen many women driving the i10 not the ritz..she feel ritz is for well built people..:P

will TD the i10..need to book before diwali..:)

Ritz without a doubt..

Look at previous threads to see what to look for when you buy a car..

After sales, second hand value, spares all play a much more important part..You'l regret if you just consider the looks..

Newi10 kappa2 (VTVT) engine Magna 1.2 ltr will cost u appx 4.6 lkhs (on road), Ritz and i10 r equally well its just matter of personally choice. For someone Ritz looks r cool and others its just opposite. i10 has better interiors Maruti really sucks when it comes to interiors. Take 2-3 test drives before finalizing any of the discussed cars. Both companies have good ASS, good resale value and fuel efficiency. So its purely matter of buyers choice/preferences/likes/dislikes.

A lady is more likely to prefer i10 simply because it gives a 'happy' feel. Ritz, like most Maruti cars, is gloomy inside the cabin. Also, the plastic quality of Maruti cars is legendary. The i10 is definitely great VFM inspite of it being pricy.

generally ladies prefer to drive i10...excellent VFM, good space, doesn't feel too big in corners and u-turns. with new look, it's newer than others :)
