Tried overclocking it?
I just started running mine @ 4.4Ghz, 1.210v
Handles plex transcoding and gaming simultaneously pretty well now
 
I've got i7 4790k. Unlocked version intel says goes to 5ghz oc. I'm using it in hackinto sh so it's stock speeds. Still under warranty, bought in 2016..
Suddenly this CPU is popular
