This is an IC for HDDs (seagates currently). Lets say I know someone who gets good prices. However, prices are up compared to prices we have been seeing last few months :(

People who are interested can PM me for details etc.

Both 3.5 and 2.5" ones. 2.5" are really tempting on prices tho :D

Approx prices)
160Gb SATA 2.5": 2760
250Gb SATA 2.5": 3180
320Gb SATA 2.5: 3825
3.5" (prices are up, anyone quoting lower, please check with your dealer/distri again :))
500Gb: 32Mb cache (same price for 16Mb too): 3440

750Gb: 5310

EDIT: All are internal HDDs, so u ll need casings for these.

Didnt check for external drives :ashamed:

Prices r quite high ! Internationally HDD prices have crashed big time...so even with $$ increase there shouldn't be any substansial rice. Last time I checked a 250GB 2.5" drive with casing (Transcend/Buffalo) was like 3.7k+tax ! Also CHIP magazine has a comparison on some 2.5" drives and prices for a 320GB is like 3.5k all incl , 250GB is 3k. Prices r usually highly bloated on mags ..so plz note ! If dealers r hoarding now...its better to wait for a week or two . $ will stabilize arnd the 45 mark or lower :)
 
i got a 160 gb 2.5 inch WD sata from mccann infosys for rs 2650 a few days back.
also the 160 gb WD 2.5 inch external was for rs 28xx.

Check again? All prices are up. Even the 7.5k 9800GT is now 8.3 with theitwares :(

N lets say the dealer isnt taking a cut inbetween here.
EDIT: I guess the picture should be clearer in a few more days ;) If anyones interested, fine, if not, no issues there either :) I got the list as I wanted some HDDs for myself and some friends. This was more of a fyi if ppl want some :)
 
Last saturday only I got a quote of 3550+tax for the Seagate 320GB 5400RPM 8MB 2.5" drive. The Buffalo/Transcends casing ones 250GB were selling for 3700+tax...320Gb was like 4.5k+tax
 
:) Good prices then. I ll just leave this open. If prices rise, the offer stands (with then prices of course). If they dont, then thats fine anyway :)

The WD external has ONLY 3 yrs warranty. So plz keep that in mind.

Internals have 5yrs. Get a coolermaster casing.

if firewire and e-sata doesnt matter, then get Seagate FreeAgent Desktop 500gb for around rs 4400 (it has 5 yrs warranty).

otherwise you can get coolermaster casing for around rs 1500 and transcend casing for around rs 1800.
 
Seagate 500 GB 32MB Model ST-3500320AS is available @ cost2cost Nehru Place for Rs. 2940/- ... They have ~ 8-10 pieces left... So get it while you can... :)
