Check these last 6 months statements and the payment made by me as well, which clearly shows that I made all the payments in full and on time except the last time where I missed by 3 days but I have late payment fee in this month's statement corresponding to my older card that is not in use since it was deactivated when a new card was sent some months ago
Can someone explain what is this?

can't say if there's any error wrt to the credit card numbers as only you and ICICI know about their usage.

but the late payment fees are aptly applied; it doesn't matter if you are one day late or 30. though there'll more charges in the upcoming statement - interest for those 3 days.

your card has a very high late payment penalty. ask customer care to lessen it a bit.

Old card numbers are not instantly removed.

I still accidentally pay my ICC bills to the wrong/old Card no, but works fine though.

You bill is fine, you missed the due date, thus the late fee. your old card is might not be active, but the payment to that no still works.

ICICI ICC Customer here as well.

So you are saying that everything is fine here?
I couldn't get time today to visit bank but will try tomorrow. But then again they might not help me as the card belongs to my brother.

How long have you been a customer? You can always ask them to waive the charges off. They do many times, unless you have a bad record. I did forget a few times, HDFC Bank CC waived off the penalties/charges each time.

Yes. That has been my experience as well. My old card was replaced with a chip-card a few months ago. For some reason, a second chip-card was issued to replace the first one. Now, my ICICI account shows 3 cards in my name, although only the last one is active.

My brother is not in India now. He came before last month for 40 days and now again gone for some years so he can't talk to the Customer Care. But I will ask him to mail them the issue and ask to waive off the fee as I always did the payment on time but missed only this once.

But why would they remove it from 4 months statement and then show it on the 5th statement. Doesn't make sense.

Systematic process, System receives payment after due date, system reports a late payment charge, system goes to the Cust ID, searches for CC nos, finds it and adds entry to the first no found.

This is my silly theory of course :p

I like it. Might be true. My friend also suggested this

Well I had been ignoring this too for the past year, after an upgrade and chip card upgrade. Called CC today and had those earlier ones cancelled. CC confirmed that they were linked and would only go away by cancellation since it was a systemic thing.

I had a similar issue with my Citi card.
I called the CC and told them that since i am using this case for like 4 years and i have not missed even a single payment kindly revoke the late payment fees as it missed out of my mind.
Tell them that you are a valuable customer and this time it was just out of negligence that you missed.
I am sure they will remove that charge.
It has worked for me in the past
Because end of the day its completely on the banks discretion if they want to put that charge.
Trust me it works because yours is a genuine case and you have your old record to backup your arguement.
