CPU/Mobo Idle and load temperature and CPU fan rpm for the x4 965 BE ?

Hey guys, I'm processing on a Phenom x4 965 BE, gigabyte UD5P but I'm having a bit of a problem.

My idle temps are about 40-45 and load are 50-55 and the worst is the CPU fan speed (stock fan/hsink) It runs are 5900+ rpm making it sound like a jet plane.

I've sent a request to amd support, any idea why this is happening

also, I've set the mobo settings perfect, cool and quiet features, smart cpu fan, smart power fan all are enabled.

the temperatures are perfectly normal.....as for the noise, see of the processor fan is fixed properly or not...

and dude, 6000rpm is not less....xpect it to make some sound....

but if u say cool n quiet is enabled, shudnt be running at 6k all the time though

The CPU temperatures are fine, google it for more information. But the CPU fan's RPM is too much, under idle conditions with Cool & Quiet enabled it shouldn't exceed 3000.

Try loading the BIOS settings to default. And then enable Cool & Quiet and Smart Q-fan again.

Also in the Smart Q-Fan setting, see at what CPU temperature is the fan supposed to spin at its highest RPM. There's a possibility you might have set it low.

buddy cpu temp is fine but i think u r using old amd heatsinker or old amd cpu fan something ....only old amd series fans work on such high rpm not new 45nm series cpus..

The heatsink/fan that comes along with the 965 BE is a joke. It sounds like a hurricane and temps are too high to be comfy. I replaced it with my old CM Hyper 212 and with the single 120 mm fan at 1800 rpm (motherboard header is pwm, fan is not pwm) it is whisper quiet. The idle temps are 39 deg and at full load it hovers around 47-49 deg.

When you have bought a 9K+ processor, spend some 1.5K extra to get a decent cpu cooler like a CM Hyper 212 Plus or Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro to keep it cool. If you plan to overclock go for a Xigmatek Dark Knight at 2.4K

In my view, it is the problem with Gigabyte motherboard. I'd the same problem with 7750 BE and 780gDs2h gigabyte motherboard. The CPU temp etc every thing is in normal range but the fan rpm was very high resulting in noise. Google was not of much help. Ultimately installed Gigabyte's easyfan utility and manually set the fan speed to 30% at 45 deg temp. This solved my problem as fan rpm is now under 3k till 50 deg temp.

The only disadvantage is that these settings do not come in to affect till OS is booted completely. further I'm not aware of any such utility from gigabyte that works on Linux.

The CPU temps are perfect. No problems,however the 6000+ RPM is too loud.

I know the fury of a fan running at 6000+ RPM. It's hell. And yes my Athlon X2 7750 had the same problems until I did a BIOS upgrade. Which drastically reduced my Voltage supplied to the Processor(Reduced from 1.325 to 1.29 after BIOS upgrade). So if you have the option to reduce the processor voltage ,use it or else do a BIOS upgrade.

Or just download K10STAT . Google it. You can set you're voltages for Load and Idle. I've reduced mine to 1.1v Load and 0.965v for Idle. Load - 32* Idle - 21*.

I switched to the H50.

i thought my problems would all come to an end,
the 965BE idles at about 51, load at 69.

I'm using a elite 310, what idle temps are you guys getting from the 965 be [125w]?

i'm guna try keeping the case in a more ventilated area and check.

I guess, i've got a hot cpu

Suggestion:-

1. BUY Aftermarket CPU COoler

2. UNDERVOLT ur CPU.

Start by setting voltage from 1.4V to 1.25V... it should be rock stable there, because the X4 955 is capable of 1.75V after all.
