IEMs? - One for Mom & One for Girlfriend

^ Hmmm the ladies might easily notice the difference between the S4 and PL-21 but not the S4 and NE6. Infact I wouldn't be surprised if they end up liking a NE6 more than his S4 ;).From what Ive observed most general public / non critical listener seem to enjoy the NE6 a lot . I recently suggested one to my friend and he has literally thanked me a dozen times saying these are the best earphones he has ever heard. Thanks to the amazing bass and soundstage.

If you can afford to gift a S4 to both of them , nothing like it ..If not get a single NE6 first and get their feedback on it .
 
@OP Your mother might not like NE6. It might not be really that good with Indian classical, instrumentals. Your wife might like it. Get one NE6 and get their feedback as Fah33m suggests.
 
^^ Completely agree with you. RE2 should be a great choice.
Just remember that it's bass shy. Especially if you try to compare it with s4. :P
 
,But getting the RE2 is a hassle right? A friend is coming back from the states and I asked him to check for the RE0 a week back and he said they dont have it anywhere, not even in bestbuy.

I dont think they will be able to differenciate between all the IEMs, and they wont even care :)

Okay so my mom used one of her friend's bose quiet comfort headphones and is hell bent on getting those, so just one IEM wanted now.

Between the PL21 and PL30, which one is good for RnB and Hip Hop?

the M6 is quite detailed in the midrange (more so than the PL21; on par with the M9). By weakest midrange I mean that there is literally less midrange emphasis so bass and treble sound slightly louder than they would in a 'flat' earphone. Yes the M6 has plenty of bass but so does the PL21 and the M6 is the better earphone overall. Again, neither is what I would call 'balanced' or 'natural' but the M6 is the lesser of two evils and likely the best you can do for $20.

I get the impression you might be better taking them to a shop to check out a few of the suggestions mentioned here before actually buying anything.

Problem of course is, they won't let you do that in a shop and thats assuming they even have what you want in the first place.
 
Hmm yeah that is a good idea.. but I will get either the pl21 or pl30.. confused between the two..
