Hi all,
I've an Ikey Office k/b purchased around couple of yrs. back. Today while using the comp. I accidently spilled water over the k/b. This had happened sometime back also & just cleaning the top of the k/b & waiting for sometime did the trick. This time I just cleaned the top & as had some urgent mails to write decided to go ahead. The power LED's blinked & responded to touch couple of times & then nothing.
So in the afternoon took the k/b apart. Took the 15 or so philips screws out & was confronted with the no. of white rubber cones. The office shortcuts on the top had blue color cones while the rest had white ones. It also has 2 greenish ones but don't remember where they were held.
Anyway, so the keyboard has 3 rubber sheets with 2 having wire traces on them while the middle one is empty. There was also couple of water drops on the sheets which I wiped off. Made a keymap of the k/b & also took out all the keys off the top-plastic side of the k/b. There was also lot of dirt which I wiped off a cloth.
The wire traced sheets mention it to be a
Code:
Ez-9910 SA-043. (US/EP)
facing backside.
The circuit having LCD on the top right-hand side mentions
Code:
Ez-9910 SA-043

The questions I've are as follows :-

1. Is there a possibility that the circuit may have shorted or something or not?
2. Is there possibility of finding any info. on the above circuit or can some similar circuit can be used to get the k/b working?
3. Should just cleaning the plastic caps as well as the top-side of the plastic body with a damp cloth should be enough?
If u guys have any suggestions or something would be great as changing the k/b is an expense which I would like not to use/do. Looking for help/suggestions. If this question has been asked before & if some answers were provided then that is also o.k./appreciated.
Looking for help

Another thing,

The system is a dual-boot system. So the system does boot up till the GRUB menu & as have configured GRUB to not run a count hence it stays there. This means that everything else is o.k. right as GRUB is there. The first couple of times when the k/b responded was being able to boot up although slowly Ubuntu which should mean that everything else is o.k. Right?
