Hi guys i had a p4 and well it was a pin cpu now that the motherboard has poofed im looking to buy a new one.Budget is not a problem as such for me but i like to be less than 20k more in the region of 15k as i already have a Sata 500 gb hdd and dvd writer with me... I also need to take care of my Graphic needs..
Also the Quad 6600 is in my range would be a good idea to go for it i can also afford the E7200 E8200/8400 now that ive told u my price range im hoping u great people will be able to help me better.. I
I am confused with the motherboard if u can help me with that ive heard a lot about Nvidea chip sets but i have no clue as to how they actually are ..

ALL help will be greatly appreciated

Proc - Buy the fastest procc If not OCing incase of OCing go with E7200 OCers choice

Mobo - For OCing Asus P5Q pro or Deluxe if not OCing Gigabyte EP31 DS3L

RAM - OCZ or GSkill Both are good depends on your choice but OCers prefer GSkill

GPU - Let others suggest not very knowledgeable on that front.

All this would not cost more then 17 to 18K (a very rough approximation)........

For CPU go for E7200->5k -5.5k. very good OC capability

Motherboard->Abit IP35E 5.3k. OC'er choice

GPU-> 9800GT 7.5k else 4850 9.2k.

Hope this will help u a bit..

e7200 if you want to over clock , go for e8400 if you are not over clocking:hap2:

Ok and any suggestions with motherboards im confused there as well i have decided up e 8400 and quad is out of the picture,now mobo remains

i am currently using a Gigabyte GA EP31 - DS3L....its a quite stable....
IMO - if not going for OCing which you have clearly specified... :D
Stick to a Medium Range Board....as it will be a waste if you go for a high end MOBO......
Plus the money saved can be put to better use...like getting a good PSU...later on......

K i understood now one last question bro if u would reccomend which 3 boards would u recommend to me, with or without onboard graphics for e8400 or quad.. Sorry for really harrowing u

E8400 with Asus P5Q pro- best

E8400 with abit IP35E -must have

E7200 with gigabyte P31 -budget

PS: do consider quads as option since future games might favour d quads !!! I got Q6600 myself!!!!

E8400 + Gigabyte EP31/Biostar P43 + Transcend 2GB RAM + HD 4850(If budget permits) other wise 9800GT

High End Board - Asus P5Q Pro Series/MSI P45 Platinum

Med End Board - MSI P45 Neo F

Low End Board - Gigabyte GA EP31 DS3L....

Not very knowledgeable with quad core boards.....would let others comment on that...
