PC Peripherals I'm getting the DFI NF4 Ultra-D!!!!!!!!!

I asked my friend in the US, and he said he can get the mobo, cpu, ram and heatsink for me :hap2:  :hap2:
You Lucky Fellow

So i've asked him to get the DFI nf4 Ultra-D, and 3200+ Venice.
Gr8 Choice , but if you can shell some more money if possible the
3700+ SD is absolutely fabulous

Do you know if the current batch of boards can be modded to SLI?
No idea , but you will have to have the SLi Bridge Pin which connects the
2 GPU's , and its provided only with a SLi mobo.
Also Nvida has modified its drivers from 66.75 [Hope so not sure]

Now, which RAM should I go for? OCZ? Which of these would be better?
OCZ VX series which darky has gr8 Overclockers.

Also, which HSF to go for? Gigabyte G-Power, xp-90, Venus 12 ???
XP90 with Thermal Take Smart Blue LED 92mm

Congrats on ur new mobo.
You should also have a gr8 PSU to power this moster RIG
Antec TP 480W / TP550W / SP450W

Well most of the questions were already answered but still my thoughts.

had it....lost it...:( a DFI nf4 Ultra-D :(

damn....that board was SLI-moddable...checked the nf4 chipset :(

hope masky tries it now ;)

i never sold anything....

it was planned that he'll get it for me...he kept it instead :P

OH finally got it.
So Masky got it for you , but you never got it from masky
Instead he kept it.

Who wud like to give away a DFI when its so tempting to keep it with u at any cost.

boohoo...sad me :(

but it opens a frsh new opportunites for me....

okay...last post...i apologise to zhopudey for going offtopic :)

Nvidia has modified its later versions of NF4 Ultra. So its not modable.
Depends on what chip you have. you will have to physically remove the chipser cooler and see the chip to be able to tell if its modable or not.

^^ been there, done that. that one bridge to be shorted is there.

BTW, its written jumpers 1-2 Normal 2-3 SLI :S on the board....near the jumper blocks

The ultra d has 2 slots

Well, I dont have the cash for a 2nd gfx, so not interersted in SLI right now. Was asking just for curiosity.

Quad, an SD is simply out of budget. Since I'll already need a bigger PSU for the DFI. That should come for 4500K hopefully.

So right now its the DFI Lanparty UT nf4 Ultra-D, with the ocz vx

and the thermaltake 92mm blue led fan(s) - Huh??? I cant find that on newegg!!! :O
My friends probably cant afford the cpu right now, so i'll buy the 3000+ from here. Maybe someone will have it in the market section in july. Funky, I dont think yours will last till then. :(
And the 3200+ for 10K+ is outside my budget.

I just might have to buy the cpu from here, and the 3200+ would be too costly. And even from US, i would prefer the 3000+ and save some money.

BTW, can someone give me mnemonics contact info? Will go there and inquire about rest of the rig.

BTW if you are heading in the DFI direction, be sure to visit dfi-street once before you buy so that you do know about certain issues that the board is facing. Lately there have been too many cases of UTT death on the LP NF4 series. Of course most probably the RAM itself is to blame but it does raise a few questions about running high VDIMM rams on the DFI NF4 boards.
