Importing from eBay - Customs duty

Hi, I'm planning to buy Logitech keyboard case for my iPad from ebay.com which isn't sold anywhere in India anymore. It costs $25 (+$20 for shipping).
I'm worried because the Indian MRP of the device is around Rs. 8000. If they do impose it, will it be on the $25 or the Rs. 8000? If they charge a very high amount, is there any way I can contest the price to bring it down?
Also, what are the odds that I won't have to pay any customs at all?

How about contacting [mention]Ra.hul [/mention] whose services several people are using here to get stuff from US. See what price he quotes. I am sure it will be less and you don't have to worry about customs.

I'll consider that as an option, thanks. But the item is pre-owned and I have to verify whether it works properly as soon as possible, so I would prefer to receive it myself.
