Hello frnds i got this wonderful option in windows itself

Windows reserves 20% of ur internet bandwidth for its own purposes lik windows update remote assistance and all sort of things which we dont use regularly resulting in decrease of or bandwidth

to set this up open the group policy editor (gpedit.msc in Run dialog box)

click computer configuration>administrative templates>network>Qos packtet scheduler>and then click limit reservable bandwidth dont set it to disabled instead set it to 0 and enable it and u will surely see a steep increase in ur connection

:hap2:

Enjoy guys

Nice info.

But, when it is DISABLED (atleast in my pc) why ENABLE it and set to ZERO ?!!

and only if the Qos packet scheduler is enabled for your connection , this tweak will work otherwise its not needed at all .

actually as default the option is set to not configured and is enabled
its strange that in ur case the option is disabled

and it certainely increases the speed of the connection

as i did a speed test before turning it on and after

and i got abt 14% rise in the speed and that is well enough i think:rofl:

This is rubbish and is one of those myths thats present in every tech (and non tech forum) you go to.

Fact: XP doesn't reserve any bandwidth. 100% of the network bandwidth is available.

Explanation: See the Microsoft Knowledge Base article Windows XP Quality of Service (QoS) Enhancements and Behavior.
Windows XP Quality of Service (QoS) enhancements and behavior
Anyway, its easy to test if you have a good connection (broadband will be nice). Just run a download from a good server. You can check it out yourself. This tweak wont increase your speed by 20%.

Crap. People should read up on QoS. In any case, you need a QoS aware stack... and if you don't have it, you simply won't notice any difference anyway.

because you have "Qos packet scheduler " enabled for your connection . to see what kind of service/protocols/clients , go to your "Local Area Connection" in Control Panel/Network Connections , right click and click on "properties" .
