You need some degree of government influence to put out stuff like that. Isn’t it.

misinformation can play important part in warfare psyops.. Not sure if you have heard of the story of How Pakistanis were made to surrender in 1971.It’s frustrating to see people defend the incompetence of these media outlets by calling it “psyops.”
Yes that I agree. War or no war . They have long lost their credibility. You can’t claim strategic intent when your entire record is built on sensationalism and misinformation. Seeing people around me panic, afraid to step out due to imagined escalations, and even start hoarding due to this, is infuriating. I can’t begin to imagine how much worse it must be for those living near the border.
No one expects all media to be top tier. I don't care if the mainstream mass market media is a circus. We just expect at least ONE reliable and professional source. Last night in the entire Indian media landscape, across TV, digital and "independent" media, there were precisely zero.Too many naive people in this thread. Unless you were so young, where were you all during Kargil, 26/11 and other zillion terror attacks? Media is far better today than they were during those times if the metric is "are they actively and intently harming the country and lying to the public". Today's media is entertainment and circus. Those times it was enemy co-conspirator and saboteur. Some are govt sympathisers, some are opposers... we have plenty on both sides. Just take a look at TN media which prostrates to a single party no matter if it is in power or not. For them the "war" is India's (Modi's) fault and borderline supporting pakistan position. That is the level of media. It is not something new. Atleast these days we have platforms like X and features like community notes.
Btw some one was talking highly of a popular journo. I could laugh at that if not for what she did during Kargil and 26/11. Reporting live army locations which were later shelled by the enemy. Reporting live hostage accounts which were later used by the 26/11 handlers and communicated live to the terrorists.
There are plenty of such saboteurs and enemies within our country these days too. I will any day prefer this clown shows and circuses to that hell where they ran the real show.
Stop deluding yourselves. There is no ideal utopian honest credible sincere fourth-estatish journalism etc except for in your fertile imaginations and fantasies. There never was... it was just hidden well in the past. Get used to the real world. If people truly wanted all this they would have gotten them. People want entertainment they get entertainment.
Obviously the entire population is not going to critically think and evaluate every piece of information. They tune out... They need sensation, drama and the works. The media is just catering to them. Both sides (media and the viewers) know what they are doing/getting. Everyone knows what is going on sooner or later. There will always be fog of war and propaganda. Public fear and hoarding is not only due to media. It is more innate and will always happen. Just get over it. But there are plenty of methods and ways the govt has with it to communicate the necessary info to the public if the need be.
Course you can. It's the best of both world's. These channels continue to do what they do best and serve a strategic purpose at the same time. You can’t claim strategic intent when your entire record is built on sensationalism and misinformation.
If the other side wants out fine otherwise they will be replied to. This will continue as long as it has to because time is on our side. The longer the other side stays mobilised with money they don't have the better.Seeing people around me panic, afraid to step out due to imagined escalations, and even start hoarding due to this, is infuriating. I can’t begin to imagine how much worse it must be for those living near the border.
Exactly my thoughts, it seems they are trying to do international diplomacy first and fighting offline untill they can show something substantial publically.Press Briefing:
we did nothing...
officially.
It's working as the General observed in his video this morningWhile New Delhi has ensured that Pakistani channels are not easily accessible to Indians, it is deliberately feeding all misinformation to Indian news channels that are watched by millions of Pakistanis. The idea is to inject elements of fear among the Pakistanis.
Wonder why. Who here said to me Paks don't watch Indian TV?Interestingly, while Pakistan has banned many things Indian, including films, it has not done so effectively as far as Indian news channels are concerned.
Indian news channels gave the enemy useful info during Kargil & 26/11. Nobody disputes thisThere is a theory that the Pakistani establishment needs Indian news channels the most when it launches a terrorist attack or wages limited wars against India.
They trust our media more than their own. Especially during times such as this.Of course, now the Indian authorities have curtailed the easy access that the Indian news channels had those days when operations were on. But Pakistanis still think that the Indian channels are sources of authentic information.
So it's the military doing it. ExcellentAnd this being the case, in the ongoing artillery exchanges between the two countries, the military leadership in India is deliberately feeding misinformation to the Pakistanis, the argument goes.
BingoTherefore, nobody can be sure what India is doing or will do.
Starting to make sense now?For instance, Indian media has been flashing reports about JF-17 shootdown, capturing F-16 pilot, hunting Pakistan’s AWACS, bombing Karachi port, etc. Some even claimed seizing Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, and some reported the arrest of General Asif Munir!
Have to say I'm impressed. This could well be an Indian strategy to unnerve Pakistan and pressure its ‘rogue’ military.
This was from the afternoon, and was reported in western media too.
so its targetted towards pakistanis not us .. if only share market knew about this, my call options would not have ended in red todayIt is systematic

From JF-17, F-16 To AWACS Shootdown -- How Indian "Psy Ops" Is Tormenting Pakistan, Bringing Pak To Its Knees: OPED
In this age of info war, it is becoming increasingly difficult to know what the reality is on the India-Pakistan front. In a sense, the disinformation war that was seen during the war in Ukraine is being replicated now in the ongoing drone/missile war between India and Pakistan over the last...www.eurasiantimes.com

Yes about the night before. I didn't know we'd launched those drone attacks. Everybody was thinking once and done until the defense minister reminded us that operation sindoor wasn't over yet. This was from the afternoon, and was reported in western media too.
Apparentlyso its targetted towards pakistanis not us ..
Nope this happened in the afternoon yesterday and was reported in the afternoon. Western media was reporting it with footage from Pakistan (they have correspondents there). Still waiting to hear one piece of information which Indian media correctly reported last night and western media didn't.Yes about the night before. I didn't know we'd launched those drone attacks. Also it's not a syndicated article.
Reuters is parroting out the Pak line about two downed Indian jets. You believe that?Still waiting to hear one piece of information which Indian media correctly reported last night and western media didn't.
She's concerned that the Pak military has now started targeting civilians whereas in the past it was only terrorists that did so.Who wants that mehbooba mufti muft mein? Someone tell her to FO!
