India-Pakistan current war like situation discussion (Pahalgham)

Since when do we take part in third party mediation for bilateral ? They can take credit for my morning ablutions today.
This is the important bit

According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Pakistan’s DGMO initiated the call at 15:35 IST, during which both sides agreed to halt all military activity from 17:00 IST. Misri added that instructions had been issued on both sides to enforce the agreement, and further talks were scheduled for 12 May at noon.

We never depend or get involved with a third party to tell us what to do.
That was until the Simla '72 agreement was being followed. When we put IWT in abeyance they did the same with the Simla agreement.

The whys of this ceasefire are going to be speculated to death until more details come out.

It's not true we don’t get involved with a third party. Kargil was won by diplomats. It was their efforts that got Clinton to drop support for Pakistan and they unilaterally vacated the remaining 120/160 posts they occupied. Upto that point and three months later the army had only cleared 40 posts with 500 dead.

Can't talk too loudly about this because upsets the military.

Really disappointeded that we agreed to a ceasefire. What exactly could trump pressure us with tariff?

But before the 5pm ceasfire coming into effect we hit at least two more air bases that houses the F16 Block 50 and their Awacs. Pakistan defense chatter is that 5 air person in the hanger where killed with several more injured and with unknow material or aircraft destroyed or damaged.

Another air base air traffic tower or radar was hit and possibly a mountains underground base entrances that houses their nukes. All of this happened today afternoon before the alleged call initiated by Pakis.

This is in addition to early morning before dawn thumping they got from India in other air bases.

At least the government is changing its policy that hopefully is a deterrent, any more terrorist attack will be considered an act of war.

We truley had them by the balls.

That is different from Trump telling us to stop and we stop. It may not be exactly like that but that is what is being made out to be.
In my opinion this puts us back to square one - exactly what the US want. While the Govt has stated that any terrorist activity will constitute a war, we will have to see if that is even a detterent for them and what we do when it happens again.

Unless we have the capability to make Pak compensate for lives lost and massive expenses of war inflicted on our citizens, we are not in grand shape.
Trump and other countries will increase they weapon costs and put us in difficult situation while pitching for the weapon sale.
Pakistan leaders and military benamis have nothing much to lose, Indian man have to pay tons in taxes to compensate Pak's utter moronity. This is the sad part.
Occupying PoK is very good idea, but controlling those hostile population will be impossible task.

is Imran dead ?
Meanwhile "Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur submitted a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking the parole-based release of PTI founding chairman, citing serious threats to his life in Adiala Jail from India."... Lolz.

As I have commented before here, I believe BJP is in the illusion of some sort of global right wing brotherhood. They have consistently compromised Indian foreign policy to gain some point in domestic affairs of US, Canada, etc Modi has a soft spot for Trump for apparently this reason. How else do you explain an Indian PM doing an election rally for an American president, something that's never been done before or since. That would be like if Obama came to India during 2014 elections and did a rally for Rahul Gandhi.

I usually do not subscribe to conspiracy theories or give them much weight, but it is quite a coincidence that companies like Apple decide to move out of China to India, China loses big contracts from USA in their stupid trade wars and next thing we know India gets hit with a terror attacks and gets into a scuffle with Pak. As stupid as Pak is and as vile is their nature, this timing is just too bad for us and too good for China.

Our position has always been non escalatory and not to continue. If anything it's the Paks he had to lean on. Which is to their interest because in a way the west has bailed them out before a humiliating defeat.

Our message was delivered on May 7 in the first strike. That was all the deterrent the planners had in mind provided the Paks didn't respond.

The scope was wider and more audacious than previous. Taking out the meeting areas of LeT & JeM was a long time wish for lots of people. Now they know their house is getting flattened if they try anything.

@roadrash99 thse parasite politicians only made the platform for terrorists to dance on it and kill our people.

but im very proud of our military the, way they are handling the situation. now if we can blackout the fearmongering and instigator media , we will be at peace sooner.

USA few weeks earlier gave Pak $400mn to maintain F16 fighter jets. If India could annihilate that necessity, Pak would've been only happier ?

^^ Maxar Technologies ( an American space technology company) received an unprecedented amount of requests between 2 and 22 February 2025, demanding for satellite images of Pahalgam.

no conspiracy theory. just ask yourself. if you have to open a restaurant where you will open?
A peaceful neighborhood where people are happy or the place where street fights are going frequently.

Plus dont forget the tax/GST and "Ease of doing bizness" here. From a pure business standpoint, its not lucrative rather very risky. .

it's time we look at reality. we indulged ourselves enough in the puppet shows.

Ceasefire with Pakistan: What India Gained?

1. Military Deterrence Displayed – India showcased its readiness, drone strength, and rapid response—sending a strong message to all the adversaries.

2. IWT Pressure Point – Subtle reminder that treaties like Indus Waters aren’t beyond recalibration if provoked.

3. Global Acceptance of India’s Doctrine – No “both sides” lectures this time. Quiet nod from the West to India’s new war posture.

4. National Unity Reinforced – Stronger pushback on illegal immigration & clearer united public mandate on internal security.

5. Economic Continuity Secured – Ceasefire ensures focus remains on recovery, not prolonged conflict.

6. Aatmanirbhar Boost – Expect more R&D and indigenous defense tech. This conflict just reset the priority list.
