How many days has it been? It can take 7 to 10 days for local deliveries

Lot first go to city where all parcels are sorted according to their destination

Bag open means lot has been arrived and is opened and will be transferred to another lot....

Bag close means Your parcel have been shifted to other lot(lot of that particular city where you are sending parcel) and has been packed and ready to get shipped.....

In my area also PO is quite good.... they never ask and say anything... just take stuff without any questions.....

So what you are really saying, is that you went to a small branch that does not have a postmaster physically present.

Look, the rules for speedpost are the same everywhere in the country, one branch cannot selectively choose when and when not to apply them. If you find the staff uncooperative then maybe you need to cite the rules to them.

What are the rules for sending parcels by speedpost ? They are the definitive reference.

If you find ppl contravening them then they are liable to be reported to their higher ups.

You should NOT have to go to a GPO just to get a parcel delivered.

7-10 days for local deliveries? Where have you been living?

I recently sent a parcel to Orissa on 10th and it reached there yesterday i.e 13th

I sent another one on 11th to Bangalore and it reached on 13th

Dont worry about the tracking as it wont have any affect on the time taken to deliver the parcel to you. BTW I never said anything about their tracking although they instantly update tracking information unlike DTDC which takes a day for the the tracking number to work.

EDIT: I just checked, your parcel has reached Kolkata today and for the information of others I sent his parcel on 11th

And Please, Im talking about the Post office in my area. I cant speak for areas other than mine like the OP's
