i have serious doubts abt this "laptop"

Govt. is trying to use names of reputed institutions like IIT Madras, and IISc Bangalore to fool common ppl.

Lets see what comes out, Still no concrete details are available,

Any IIT Madras student can provide us with some insider information ??

The so-called laptop actually turned out to be a storage device containing megabytes of data info which can be accessed by a user by connecting this device to a laptop.

dont usb flash drives do the same for much less??

these ppl give bad name to India and spoil image of institutions like IIT's even our media is uninformed and behave like f****ing amatures while reporting such news

I've got a $1 laptop. Admittedly it's just a slab of rubber, but if you put a computer on top of it you can get some serious learning done.

is it just me or did someone else also note the fact that :

"The mission is part of the ministry's initiatives to help the common man in his quest for education. The central government has earmarked Rs. 46.12 billion (Rs. 4,612 crore) for the mission in the 11th Five-Year Plan"

Now just to break even you need to sell 9,20,00,000 laptops if the whole of the cost is just fixed cost. IMHO its just another ploy to pocket tax payers money by routing it thru weird channels.

could be the next biggest scam
in the name of doing research the govt officials may be miniting money of this project
