A Taliban spokesman said Sunday that they had killed an abducted Indian engineer in Kandahar as he tried to escape.

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Kabul said that a body had been found in Kandahar and is suspected to be that of K Suryanarayana.

The Hyderabad-based engineer was abducted on Friday evening on the Kandahar-Kabul highway in Hassan Kareiz district of Zabul. Taliban militia on Saturday threatened to kill him if all Indians do not leave the country within 24 hours.

A father of three, Suryanarayan had gone to Afghanistan four months ago and was working with a Bahrain-based company Al Moayad, which is engaged in a project for Afghan mobile phone service provider Roshan Telecom.

Sad... Al-Moyed should get their a$$es sued..
Damn them for sending someone there without security.
Maybe its because we indians are expendable?

P.S. i remember i bought my first computer from Al-Moyed..
 
heartfelt condolences to the late Mr. Suryanarayana's family from all of us here at TE. another life laid down in the line of duty. we are proud of u. we salute u brave martyr. may u rest in peace. this is the third time this has happened and i guess this is not enough for the govt. to wake from its slumber and provide some security to our citizens who are working in high risk areas.

and india bombing someother other country?? lol they havent evenn bombed our own neighbouring foe .. bombing the taliban is a far shot!

GRUESOME!! The family was sitting in front of TV today at 10:30 am and all of a sudden there was flash news saying he was dead.I couldnt watch how they were alternating between shock and unbelief.Earlier in the morning they had assurance from the CM also.
 
Sad country afghanistan is. I wonder what the poor guy was doing in that shit hole of a place in the first case, but i feel really sorry for him and his family. My condolences to his heartbroken family.
 
He was a friend and a former colleague of my dad.
Heck my dad goes to kabul every fortnight.
Now even my entire family is shit scared and our company is contemplating shutting down its 400cr. business in afghan.

Contracts were made with the afghan govt and the US army but the buggers cant even provide basic security...the #@%$%@ :@:@:@

edit: Amol..many Indian and gulf communication companies are constructing the backbone communications network there.
My dad's company is providing cellular and HF networks for the afghan govt AND secure encrypted communication systems for the USArmy
 
We CAN bomb the taliban. Bombing Pakistan is difficult - they can retaliate, and USA and China will start jumping up and down. Bomb the Taliban, and the Afghani govt. and USA will start cheering for you.
 
as if USA is gonna bother if we bomb pakistan... USA can never be a friend of ne country but itself. it only uses other countries for its own profit if USA profits from bombings on pakistan done by india it will only come forward and help india lol

but the point remains tht india will never bomb pakistan even at present it has enuff potential to do the needful :D

Man have you guys been keeping up with the news on this case??

The Al-Moayed representative said that Mr.Surya didnt take security personnel with him on that day because he thought he would be safe.
But in the papers it is mentioned that he recently escaped a bomb blast and was very scared about the situation there and even confided this to his relative.

Al-Moayed should be blasted.

And the sad news that his widow tried to commit suicide. Sad sad sad.
 
I hope the governemt does something about it! Most likely, they'll say they're trying something and it'll be the same 5yrs down the road. The family deserves justice. I'll go with Krool - Bomb Taliban.
 
This is very sad. I just saw on the news that some female is claiming to be his wife, so that she gets part of the compensation Govt. is offering to his family. This is disgusting.
