Just because they are Indians, we can't support them.. If I see the matter correctly, mostly they are party to this university scam.. There might be very few genuine cases, for those I feel bad.. But it could have been worse for them instead of having to wear the tags!

There are always innocent casualties in these kind of things. Nothing can be done about that.

I now think, since they have radio collars and these students are not running around killing people, its better than jail.

In India, I'd rather have we upgrade the firearms that our military and police carry than get them radio collars.

I am surprised they were not deported, US immigration laws are very strict. I have no sympathy whatsoever, as these fly by night immigration operators are to be found throughout the country, and most know they are illegal.

OP your first post is extremely stupid, let me point that out. Its exactly the crass, which media wants to feed you, and you get frenzied.

I don't think any of the supposedly affected students were unaware of what they were getting into. i.e there were no 'innocent victims' as people like to think. From what I understand, the University is run by Chinese and Indians and unlike any typical university, there are no classes or much physical infrastructure to talk about. The so called students only join either so that they can illegally work in US on student visas or get to that eventually via an easy (albeit dubious/illegal) route. I think these guy's only started changing their tune after the shit it the fan.

Sorry OP, but the Media has overhyped this case. US takes security of their country very seriously unlike ours so I don't think there is anything wrong with the treatment of the students.

Also, we ourselves don't have the moral right to talk about humane treatment considering how we treat the poor people in our country. Politicians loot public money and no one gives a damn. But when a kid steals some food, ppl beat him/her like an animal.

Most of the students were moved to OPT status, that too upon joining. Wonder how the organization pulled that one off. Cause to file for OPT it has to go through US Immigration Services. Did they not check the integrity of Tri University. Just raising a question here...? Scammers + students still stand guilty.

That's pretty messed up considering US thinks its fighting for human right n all that all over the world.

Luckily I don't like US very much, so I doubt that I will ever go to their embassy. I'm more of a UK guy.
