Infibeam - Poor service and extremely unreliable

I immediately sent them screenshots showing them the pathetic condition of the book. Nothing. No response or reply. Thats the last time I ordered through them....
I have ordered just one book from Infibeam (A star trek book :P), but it took 2 months to arrive. I wouldnt blame them entirely as the international release date was after the book was listed on their site. However their site had made an error on the availability and I thought some book dealers would get in advance.

Flipkart, though priced a lil more has worked out brilliant with me. I got an old book, called them up, and they decided to replace the book with a hard cover edition (at no extra cost), and provided me with a gift voucher. I stick with Flipkart despite the slightly higher prices, unless there is no availability.

I ordered the Edifier C2 from them and got it exactly on the day they promised. They must have had it in stock.

This is an unfortunate issue with every online retailer. They sell the product even when they don't have stock. And yes, I've faced issues with flipkart too. They sent me the wrong DVD and claimed that they would replace it. Despite several calls to them, they still haven't executed the reverse pick-up order and replacement of the product.

While its true that using various online stores on a regular basis may result in a couple of bad experiences, its also true that online sites that move quickly to address genuine customer grievances will find customers return to them despite past issues. I have had problems with Amazon and Flipkart in the past but they have resolved them every single time to my COMPLETE satisfaction. Thats why I keep returning to them - I trust them.

maybe sometime in future flipkart might screw up, or some other people will have issues with that company , online shopping is a lottery , unless you know them then its just shoot and hope for the best

every shop has a complaint against it , would you say all shops are bad or that the problem lies with the online 'ness of it?

The problem is not with the Online 'ness of these businesses but with the people running and people working for the business. I don't think they would be any different even if they are not online.

The careless attitude and indifference of the people running the business comes from a lack of fear of consequences. No business of this nature is immune to problems and customers do have problems and we do have to agree that often there are genuine reasons for the problems, but why is it that in the western countries the business house's take up such issues promptly and try to resolve them? Its not just because they don't want to loose a 'valuable' customer, but mainly because there can be other serious (legal) consequences for indifference. In our country however, there is no such fear.

Another equally important reason is lack of sincerity from people working for the business. Seriously why are customer care teams of all companies so shitty in our country. The reason is that they don't care about their work or about the company. All they care about is the pay check that they take home at the end of the month. There is no need to be loyal, but as long as you work for a company, one should at least care about the work and the brand image. They ought to realize that if their actions (or lack of in many cases) tarnish the brand image of their employer, it is ultimately going to affect them as well.

Every retail shop has complaints too. From rude sales representatives to lack of stock to a lemon being sold to you. When I say there is no problem with online shopping, I mean that it is no worse than the traditional Brick and Mortar alternative.
