Hello, have 2 Intel computers with the following config:

Intel Dual core E5700

2 GB RAM

Intel Mobo

No DVD/CD drive Installed

What would be the ideal UPS power requirement for both with a Internet adapter. Also have 2 LCD monitors that will be directly connected to the Power supply, not via the UPS.

Tried to chk the power consumption online: http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp , says 1 computer needs around 160 Watts (is this fine), total might amount to 360 W for 2

So just need to backup 2 CPU's and a Internet Adapter for 15-20 minutes, what would be the best UPS (in terms of Power and reliability)

Planning to go for PC ups ES 650va 230V India BE500Y-IN (BE650Y-IN)

Please advice

Thanks

Back ups ES 650VA can only support max load of 390W. Are you planning to run both computers off 1 ups or plan to get a ups for each? At full load, the ups wont last 5 minutes. The battery will drain completely and its life will fall down to few months instead of around 2 yrs.

i suggest one 600VA ups for each computer. the ups you want can only provide 15 mins backup for one computer at around 150 watts load. higher the load backup time will come down to around 1-2 mins.

If you are dead set on running 2 comps on 1 ups you will have to get a 1000VA back ups or a 1000VA smart ups (which is more costly).

The BR1000In has runtime of 14mins on 360w load. That's the absolute max it will run before it will shutdown.

To get extra backup time of around 30mins, get the BR1500VA one.
