Info Needed - need to ship an item with USA (CA to Chicago)

So guys,

One of my packages in stuck in a friends place in USA.

Now I need to have this shipped from Hayward, CALIFORNIA to Illionis, Chicago (so that this can be bought to India from the guy in Chicago).

Question:

• What is the cheapest option to chip this (5$ to 10$ - item weight is around 1.2 pounds)?
• Also, can I do a online booking where the courier person can do a pick-up from the friends house?

UPS can pickup the package from your friend's home. USPS (not UPS) would be cheapest but UPS more reliable and home pickup is also there.

If you want to get it done through UPS then i suppose this is to be done..

1. Call up their customer care and tell your friend to give his address and they will come.
2. I do not know about the shipping label thing. I have used this before only in cases wherein i was returning some product and the seller itself gave me a shipping label and i just took a printout and pasted on the package.

For USPS, your friend needs to go to nearest post office, at the counter they will weigh the package and attach the label and it is done.

Dont check much online, it wont be very expensive but wont be cheap as well. Correct price depends on weight and box size and such. Only the person at counter can do it. Also it depends on the shipping opiton, like 3-4 days one, 2 day guaranteed and such.
