Supermicro boards are using power hungry ICH9R south bridge chipset instead of NM10 chipset which is a platform standard on Pineview's. So I think Gigabyte 425 boards consumes much less energy when compared to supermicro.
I am using a dedicated NAS with 4 TB of storage (3 HDDS) and Gigabyte D510UD as a motherboard which is not heavy on electrical bill. I can run this NAS and a couple of other electronic devices (RTN12, LinksysPAP2, Reliance WiMax Modem) for almost an hour with APC Back-Up UPS 1100VA
