I just checked the Intel D201GLY board with soldered processor combo is available with Delta Peripherals

The board runs a Celeron 215 proccy (which is basically a single core Yonah with limted L2 cache, i.e. a single core Core duo with 512kb cache)

Performance figures are hard to find but reported Super Pi scores are in 1min. range which makes it a performer comparable to the single core AMDs

The board is a micro ITX form factor with a combined power draw in the 20W range (processor TDP is 27W)

For those who havent seen micro ITX setups, fold a A4 sheet into half :P

All in a ll, a brilliant option for folks looking to build a cheap and low power download rig/carputer/htpc/file server etc etc.

abhi..

do these fit into normal atx cabbys?

i'm planning to assemble a simple low cost browsing rig for my ppl at home.. should i be considering this? nd wats de pricing like?

you'll have to mod a normal atx case for this, though these things hardly emit heat, you may even use a shoebox to setup the whole thing :P

I'll be gng to ritchie today to pick this up..price should be arnd 3.5 K or so

Perfect except for the fact that there is no way to hook up a digital display.

Once you get the board, will you post a review with pics? I'm interested to know specifically if the S-video port they tout as an extra is indeed part of the packaging or not, in which case it'll replace my 3200+ and K8NE-deluxe rig.

Nice that these things have entered this country. Add a RAM, Hard disk, and you have a cheap cheap little machine for an uncle or grandmom.

Good find!

Get the soon to released (matter of days) D201GLY2. Celeron 220 (conroe core) , 2 sata ports, fanless design.

good to see you back Deejay....

any confirmation on that (D201gly2)?

yup...though even a basic sempron + basic am2 mobo would be around the same price range but with a little more flexibility for peripherals...

I am planning to get this one for a headless (no KB/Mouse/monitor) Linux LAMP server in a shoebox for torrents/ftp/file server for my home network

Except that the AM2 mobo wouldn't fit in a shoebox, and I'm assuming, run hotter than these things. If it's mini-ITX, the form factor is much more versatile when it comes to mounting into really tight spaces - the dashboard of a car, for instance!

lol..thats what I was saying...AM2 would make sense for gran'ma machines..

mini ITX boards like this one (or the C7 I use in my car) make sense for ultra tiny/shoebox machines

What kind of power supply do you need for these machines? Will an oildish 250 watt SPMS be able to run it?

Secondly, I have a spare Corsair DDR2 800 stick with me. Will this work with the mobo? I don't mind if that works at 533 Mhz.

It should hit the stores in US by the coming weekend. i dunno when it will be launched here.
seeing the pics of the m/b , replacing the stock cpu h/s with a copper heat pipe one from any old p4 based laptop will drastically reduce the box (shoe or otherwise) size.
Giga Nic + native SATA raid would have made this a nice NAS candidate along with the "FreeNas" Linux software.:sigh:

anyway, i ended up picking a celeron 420 (lol) with a jetway 945 micro atx mobo for the xubuntu LAMP server

Deejay, a setup like this one may not make sense for a nas alone because stanalone NAS boxes (based on arm processors) are fairly cheap (I recently got a 500GB NAS box for ~$150 incl. the hdd)

the celeron 420 is a single core conroe with 512kb cache and is perhaps overkill for a xubuntu LAMP server (headless ) but given a tdp of 35W and the price it came for, there is no reason to complain but the size

decided against the d201gly coz of the lack of a sata slot and didnt want to wait forever for a d201gly2

now let's see if the overall power draw stays >50W

D201GLY2 avialable for purchase. some dealer here in India should get it here soon, maybe duty free under that Govt. "One Laptop per Child" or whatever, cheap, affordable scheme. it costs around $70 US hence it could be cheaper here if imported in bulk.
Googled and got many sites selling for e.g. below

Buy.com - D201GLY2 MOTHERBOARD 1.2GHZ CPNT512K UATX CACHE 533MHZ FSB - BOXD201GLY2

And For Car PC Buffs here is a nice m/b.
