CPU/Mobo Intel DG45ID or Asus P5QL-EM

hi ppl .. m goin for a new pc..

Core2Duo 3.0Ghz
4GB Ram Transcend 800
Dell Monitor SP2208WFP (with HDMI Webcam and USB hub)

Can u please suggest me which mobo to buy.. from these 2 models

Intel DG45ID or Asus P5QL-EM

Intel Desktop Board DG45ID - Overview
Firstly it is an intel board.so must be great in performance..... but the problem is that it does not have an IDE port...

and i have got a IDE Hard drive (200 GB) so i don think i should let go my hdd like this ..

or should i purchase a IDE SATA 2 way converter and fix it in the mobo.. to use the ide drive too...

It has HDMI ... 1333 FSb and 7.1 Channel audio

Whereas Asus P5QL-EM

ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
has a G43 chipset .priced at Rs.6950 at SP Road Bangalore. all other features are same including HDMI... but has IDE port... which the intel counterpart doesnt have
so shall i go for Intel G45 or Asus G43

which is better in terms of performance... please help
 
get asus board , intel = no overclocking , and asus board will have Rashi warranty which is not good , though if u want good onboard graphics get nforce 730i ( onboard 9300 ) board , MSI 9300 costs 6.5k .

I would give +1 to 730I chipset.
If u really want onboard graphics Intel SUX bigtime. For intel chipset 730i is u'r best bet.

On the above 2 go with intel if u want peace of mind and go for Asus if u want overclocking and other headaches which comes in package with it.:)

...and wat about performance.. (m not goin for overclocking) are MSI Boards reliable and is 730i chipset worth it... will a c2duo 3.0 ghz processor give better performance in 730i or G43 ??

any other company (asus or nvidia) boards in 730i with dvi nd hdmi . or jus dvi..
 
I checked the nvidia s site.. Motherboard .......IT has 2 types of boards .. one with nforce (nforce MCPs) and the other with GEForce (GeForce Motherboard GPUs)..which is better...

Dude if HDMI is important, you have to go with the GeForce 9300 chipset. readily available. :)
 
well i have taken ASUS -P5QL-EM (P5Q Series with Express Gate and EPU ) 4gb DDR2 800 Transcend.. vista Home premium installed and its running smooooothly nd had no issues with installation of drivers softwares or nythin
 
MSI P7NGM Digital or ASUS P5N7A-VM out of these two buy ASUS from Prime ABGB and stick with a Ge9300 chipset as you have a 22'' monitor and you need a good GPU to work on its native resolution.
 
Can someone tell me if INTEL DG 45 ID/ASUS P5QL-EM/ or any on board gfx m/b support intel virtualization setting in its bios. i need a board in less than 4 days which should have intel VT option available in BIOS settings, pls help

how about mentioning prices.
 
I can't speak for the Asus board but the Intel board is a Piece of cow poo.

You CANNOT use the RAID because there's no floppy and it does NOT support floppy emulation for the USB drive.

Oh, and if you try to update the BIOS it will fry it every time. I tried it on two with similar results. The only way BIOS upgrades work is via the recovery method.

The DG45ID is clearly a rushed product that was never even tested. If they had even TRIED to install Windows on this POS they would have immediately said, "Hey, how are you supposed to install the RAID drivers?! There's no floppy! We should make sure you can use the USB..."

Which of course they did not because they didn't test this garbage.

I've got 3 PC's and I've replace 2 of them with Macs in the last 4 months. I bought a Mac Mini to replace my home theater PC and loved it so much I replaced my aging laptop with a MacBook Pro.

I thought I needed to have a "real" PC at all times too but after using the Macs for a few months I'm realizing being a PC user is like being an abused spouse. You take the abuse because you have no other choice... but now I see the light.

I no longer have to deal with the slap-shod PC world where half the stuff only works half the time. Now I can run Visual Studio AND Xcode at the same time and VS runs great on the Mac (I use Parallels).

You know what? I'm going to go shoot this POS with my .308 right now; put it out of my misery.
