Expect Intel to cut the prices of its Core Duo mobile processor line-up at the end of May, the Chinese-language Commercial Times said today. According to the paper, the prices of the 65nm dual-core successors to the Pentium M will fall by up to 33.1 per cent.

The T2600's price is set to drop from $632 to $423, a reduction of 33.1 per cent, the paper claimed. The T2500 will become $294, down 30.5 per cent from the $423 Intel charges for it today. The T2400's price will fall from $294 to $241, down 18 per cent.

The name missing from the list is the T2300, which currently costs $241, so that's presumably staying at that price point. Certainly, the chip is still present on Intel's Q2 roadmap.

The as-yet-unreleased T2700 is due to ship in Q3, at least a month after the price cuts are implemented. That suggests it will be coming in at $632.

All prices are per processor for CPUs sold in batches of 1000.
