CPU/Mobo Intel Mobo

I want to assemble a new PC based on Intel. After going through the iNtel website for various mobo and CPUs I chose Intel mobo D945GPMLKR , which is a media series mobo supporting Dolby , S/PDIF output, HDTV support and supporting Intel ViiV technology. But this mobo is not available in the market. Only 945GNTL or 945GTPL are available costing about Rs 6200 or so. I do not know if the mobo I chose available in India and if so what is cost? Can anyone tell me? 975 or 955 chipset mobo do not have graphic cards and costing around Rs 14500 and too expensive.Whereas D101GGC mobo is around Rs 3200 and is more cost effective but has lesser features. I would like to have a good mobo and with a CPU like Intel Pentium D 805 or Pentium 4 530 to start with. Iunderstand thet Intel is going to reduce the CPU prices by end April.The I can upgrade to a better dual core CPU.This PC will be for home use with moderate gaming and boradband internet use, downloading and listening to music, watch movies and maybe use it for PVR with a TV tuner card and software.
Please advise.
 
I'd suggest you to ditch the Intel idea completely. Prescotts are like mini microwave ovens... especially the dual core ones. Stay away from them. Get an A64 instead... especially if you wish to do any sort of gaming on that machine.
 
I feel an Intel GMA900 or Extreme Graphics something will not allow MODERATE gaming, But basic gaming yes!!
Gaming= A64/Opteron/X2/Opteron DC= AMD for now at least!!:eek:hyeah:

Stay away from present Intel dual core Proccies as Chaosji rightly pointed out, powerhogs= extremely hot!!:mad:
Goldenfrag has a P4 820 i think and his efforts to get rid of that were no good!!:p

I also saw some pc ads with the 820 at neat prices!!
Seems like Intel wanna get rid of those room heaters asap!!:rofl:

And as Harshal has said, right now is the worst time to get a PC unless its absolutely necessary!!
wait for a few more months, hang on to your existing pc and things should be much more clearer to make the right choice!!:cool2:

Harshal, Chaos, BIKeINSTEIN,Thanks for your responses. I too was of the opinion that I should wait a little. Most reviews that I have read on the internet about Intel/AMD , always have been in favour of AMD. Since I have been using Intel all these years , I preferred that.For about Rs 40K , what is the best AMD config that I can get? I wish it to be future proof for atleast 5 years, may be a dual core CPU preferably socket AM2 for future proofing?, supporting 64 Bit ,may be Windows Vista, a good graphics card suitable for 3D gaming too, 7.1 Channel Audio and set of speakers for that, DVD writer DL, 1 GB DDR (may be DDR2 with the newer AMD CPU?), 160Gb SATA. 17 inch CRT Monitor. Is 40K enough ? What about OS?
Of course I can wait for awhile too.
Please suggest

If u wan dual core,good graphics,and sound then 40k is too little, it would have to be at least 50k. And also, nothing is future proof for 5 years, max would be 2-3 years. And for that u will need 2 GB of ram so add another 4k for this, and then u want 7.1 speakers also. U cant have everyting u want in ur budget. I would say for all u specified min 60k would be required. And it wouldnt matter going with AM2 because there is hardly any performance increase. It would be better waiting for Conroe as performance is good. But if u do want to buy now, and have 60k this is it.

Athlon X2 3800+/Opty 165 - 16k/18k

Asus A8N-E - 5.5k
160 GB SATA - 3500
Geforce 7600 GT - 14k
Creative SB live 7.1 - 1.6 k

Benq 1650/ Liteon 1693s - 2800

Rest for whatever KB,mouse,cabby and PSU u require. If this is too much, simply get a single core processor and 1 GB RAM or stick with 2 GB if u want.
 
Hey Nut anytime... Well GFx is one changing scenario as Chaos said... Platforms stick around for a while... as I said waiting will be better as it will get you good deals for same amount. You can start saving now :D
 
Try boards like ASUS P5LD2-VM (Intel 945G Express Chipset), which supports DD2 RAM upto 667 MHz, Gigabit Ethernet etc. ASUS Boards are a lot more reliable than Intel Org. Motherboards when it comes to performance. You can't expect overclocking with Intel Org. Boards whereas this one does like a charm. available for around 5.9 k in Delhi; couple it with Kingston 512MB DDR2 RAM 533 MHz (2.5k) with Intel Pentium D 805 (6.7k) or Intel P4 630 (7.9k) and see the performance; but still if possible go for AMD based solutions they are lot more better.
 
^In the above Processors mentioned i would say go for Intel P4 630, overclock it with good HSF(Afaik these processors overclock pretty well)

Thanks for your advise and comments. For Intel PC, ASUS P5LD2-VM with Intel P4,630 seems to be a good choice.
Alternatively, I was also considering D101G or RC410 chipset motherboards with Pentium D 805 (though dual core with 533 MHz FSB, probably P4 630 with 800 MHz FSB would be better), which is a cheaper solution for the time being.
I would go for Intel Conroeprocessor but I wonder what it would cost and when will it be available in India.May be I will wait for a while,and manage with my present PC.
AMD surely has very good reviews presently. I will have to look into it too.

No configuration is future proof. My graphics card nearly costs as much as what your budget is but its still not future proof cos 6 months down the line, it'll be outdated. Look for what best you can get right now and don't worry about the future. Thats the golden rule of computer hardware!
