CPU/Mobo Intel Sandy Bridge discussion thread

there is already a link to this on the same page posted by Aces170

TR has a review on 3 P67 boards (ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI), and it seems 4.4ghz is the sweet spot, infact you cannot increase the base clock even 1 mhz without having stability issues. Asus seemed to have the better board with 4.4ghz on stock volts.

Apart from benching purpose, the stock speeds with turbo mode are enough to handle any processor intensive application.

Silly question , its says CPU has integrated GPU , does that mean I don't need a dedicated graphics card ?:ashamed:
Yes. If you are using it with a H-67 mobo then you dont need a GPU(for display, HD movies, light gaming) for any of the Sandy Bridge based proccies :)

Did you require a dedicated graphics card when the motherboard had onboard video?

Oh wait you opened this thread right?

was that sarcastic sir ?. Yeah what about that thread ? .Did u enjoy reading that ?

Getting the GPU inside CPU is something new ,hence was curious how good that should be and effective be .Would that be powerful compared to dedicated cards .If this starting it would get better and better and one fine day , it would be so powerful ,we wouldn't need dedicated GPUS .

Final ‘horror thought’? What is the
Extreme Edition version of the second
generation Core processor going to
look like?

....LOL :) :)

^G.Skill Ripjaws/Ripjaws X/Corsair XMS3/Vengeance etc are the most popular ones.

All CL9 1600MHz - costs <110USD ex-Newegg pricing. Should be less than 5k here.

....what RAM are you guys looking at for this ? any recommendations for 2x4Gb Pair?
With the RAM prices currently, 8GB is only about 5k for a decent pair of sticks. But its probably overkill for now at least. 4 GB is enough currently but if you want to be future proof go to 8GB

...Which dealer is keeping Ripjaws X. Those look good to me.

Thanks
None ATM. Possibly Prime would. Later i.e. Else I am importing these. Love the G.Skill sticks. Their support has been top-notch!
