wanted to buy 5750 but dont think price would come down soon so decided to buy GPU

1)which one is better considering me gonna update GPU in ab 6 months

9800GT with 390w seasonic
or
4850HD with 460w gigabyte

9k strict budget

at HD resolution(high~medium)

2)hows galaxy 98gt in terms of warranty and cooling?

don't go for galaxy

palit & zotac are cheap , but palit has better cooling where zotac better performance , i prefer palit coz zotac has heat issue...

But asus & xfx are best for build quality but costly...

for 98 palit & zotac 5.6k...xfx 6.2k...asus 6.4k...

I will prefer 9800GT + 460w gigabyte...

it will take almost a year to generalize Dx11 hardware and games which can utilize the technology well. So you need something for a year one. I will suggest you - get an used 4850 or 9800gt(u will get physix with this ;) ) and invest in a good PSU which can support your future upgrades like gfx 5750 or higher

Gigabyte 460W @ 2.5k

HD4770 @ 7.5k

Total = 10k

But the good part is it consumes lesser power than 9800GT but performs as good as HD4850, and can OC so well it nearly comes biting on HD4870 512MB's butt....

so consider the option...else stick to HD4850..

+1 for the sugesstion.

If u are not planning for another PSU upgrade and changing GPU in 6 months,

I would say - 9800GT and Seasonic 390W (put as much money on PSU) as its more of a long term investment and you can retain the same for any future configurations you go for, in the same bracket

See if you can get VX450 or Seasonic S12II 430W - around 3900 and since you are upgrading soon, invest in a lower GPU which take care of gaming for 6 months

thanks for all your reply guys ... ll get a 98gt n seasonic or corsair 400cx..

I advise you go for atleast corsiar 450VX (4.1) or even better is a Glacial power 650 Watts Psu (4.6) Just to be future proof in case you go for a card like 5850 or Quadcore rig.

guys i m getting a second hand 4850 palit for 5.5k is tat reasonable price ??with 2 yr warranty left.......can i claim warranty without bill?

What's the memory size of that 4850? A new powercolor 4850 512 MB is available at 6.7k.
You can buy a 9600 gt+glacial power 650W for 9.1k. You can later buy the ati radeon 5xxx series if possible without changing the psu by doing so.

I dont think this is a good deal. New one comes for 6.7k. And yes, you can claim warranty without bill also.

how ab 5k???????

i dont wanna spend too much on gpu as i would upgrade it in ab 6months.... and tat too w ould be a mainstream card like 5770 or NV counterpart when it is released...so i think corsair 400CX would suffice my needs

That's what. Buy a second hand 9600 gt or 4670. You can game for 6 months with it. As you are gonna upgrade your card, there would not be a necessity to buy a new psu if you go with GP650 now. It handles even HD5870. So, 5770 nowhere gives a problem. This psu is future proof and offers the best value for money. Nearly 1k lesser than corsair 550w.

I second that:cool2:

You are bound to change you CPU.MOBO, & GPU at one stage or other, but one rarely upgrades an PSU very frequently. It is an one time investment so do not ignore it.

Try a second hand 8600gt...and buy a vx 550

Dx11 will take more time...and we can expect so many changes after 6 months for softwares and hardwares
